Hey

im looking for help with a logo for my dads business. Im a complete novice when it comes to photoshop or illustrator so anything i produce looks like trash half the time. if anyone has some spare time and wouldnt mind designing one for me id appreciate it and would donate some money towards the site.

the business is called M.O.T. Express and the preferred colour is blue if thats ok!

obv. Karma will be awarded for anyone who attempts this!

The business is an M.O.T centre. An M.O.T is a series of tests that a car has to go through every year to make sure that it is up to standard.

The size needs to be no more than 300px in length and 175 in height.

It's a business logo he wants, not damn web2.0.

Hence the name "web". It stays on the internet. This is a business logo we are talking about, not some random gaming logo.

I may work on it later on. But frankly, if you want serious logos ( MOTs are a pretty big thing ), then you have to pay for them. I don't just make sites for free.... Just like other people shouldn't make COMPANY logos for free. As I am guessing you have an EU VAT number and the logo will be used for company recognition, asking for some guys to do it for free is not a very good idea.

nah not quite!

I race around the country in a father son team and we needed something to go on the back of my race suit! It could also be used in letters that the business sends out!

yours looks great zimmer, the only criticism is that i dont like the font that the letters M.O.T is in, otherwise i love it!

Since when have you seen a reflected, gradiented ( word? ) and bended logo in real life?
I haven't, and I do get out a lot.

Let me expand. Ers ( Raphi ), has created a logo which is suitable for a glossy website with a mixture of dark and bright colours. In a way... web2.0 style. Now, web2.0 is something that stays on the internet. I have yet to see a glossy HALIFAX building with smashing bright colours and reflections. It is not something that we ( humans ) use in the real world.

Not saying my logo is any better. But you are asking for a professional, company logo, for which designers charge over £1000 for.

He put the effort in, the least i can do is say thanks. It isnt right for the job, but im not going to blow it back in his face am i? No. because that would make me look like an ungrateful arsehole.
