Well what are the Pros and Cons of this 2 chips? I had a slight problem installing SF and had to cancel the setup and reinsert the cd so that it installs the right thing:P My intel pc didnt give me such a problem.

Other then the installation problem which i figured out myself, the chip is great.

Intel prides itself with high clock speeds.  However, AMD has more and larger pipes, which IMO result in better performence.

Clock Speed are pointless these days in computers, it is the bus speeds that matters now, especially in gaming and dual core, heat, oc on bus etc. AMD is better than Intel. Period. Except Intel is only good at its mobile chips. in terms of a gaming rig, AMD wins big time.

Preformance on an AMD CPU is slightly/to/somewhat better than a comparably priced INTEL CPU. But you still get what you pay for. . . the higher speed/more pipeline CPU's simply cost more. Its the same for graphic-GPU's  you get what you are willing to pay for.

AMD beats Intel in gaming performance because the Memory controller is built into the CPU instead of being on a separate chip like Intel.

Intel is making a 65nm CPU.  supposingly it is suppose to be around the same design as the AMD chip.  AMD may finally have some competition  in the gaming market

I have an AMD 3700+ and love it. No complaints at all.

I would suggest that anyone interested in the difference between Intel and AMD read this article. Explains everything in nice, simple terms.

its more of a personal preffrence, some ppl at the OC forums, switched from intel to amd, then switch back to intel. AMD makes cheap proccessors, and the ultimate FX-57, but its 1000 USD, bit pricy i think

ya, intel are better at Digital Media Encoding tho

Intel Run hotter
AMD are faster in games because their pipe stages are shorter, and games are changing, so, shorter pipes = shorted reaction etc etc

AMD is releasing DDR2 mobos next year w00t!!! intels run hotter coz of the higher clock speeds... but after OCed and new cooling... hehe

The AMD Athlon XP speed rating calculation

If you remember how to "solve for x" using High School math, AMD's speed rating can be calculated. The variable X can represent the MHz rating using the below generic formula:

MHz = (XP rating/1.5) + (500/1.5)

For example, using the 1800+ processor speed rating:

MHz = (1800+/1.5) + (500/1.5)

MHz = 1200 + ~333.33333333...

MHz = ~1533.33

The squiggly ~ means "approximately." Since .333 is infinitely repeated, it's just nice way to represent "short form."

So my AMD 1.7 GHz 3000+ is equivalent to a 2.3 GHz Intel, due to the fact that Intel flufs their processor speeds.

Hope this helps....

if anyone looks at any cpu tests in gaming then they will see that AMD will own intel at any game

LOL you guys get so hoped up on the battle between Intel and AMD.  Sure AMD might be better @ running games...but you are comparing games and not certain applications.  The new Intel 65nm Dual Core's are pretty sweet.  If you look at the Charts on tomshardware.com the 90nm Dual Cores are pretty close together with the AMD top of the line.  I mean you could have a top of the line AMD chip but if you don't have a top of the line video card, or motherboard, or RAM, then what's the point.  I mean if you are a die hard PC gamer and you only use your PC for gaming then go withe AMD.  But I like the versatility of the Intel chip.  I have never had to send back a defective Intel Chip...but I have had to send back 1 AMD ones.
