yes!  imagine bf2... no more complaining about your team sitting in the uncap.  the bots would be constantly fighting for control of flags.  and because they are bots, you could do some heroic shit like taking down 30 dudes rambo style to cap a flag.  it would obviously be exploited by stat padders and such, but for those who play the way bf2 is intended, it would be epic.

Lol, 180hours on the map and Ive never used them - but that is plain stupid.

Too many TOW's will ruin it, but most flags should have at least one: especially on the larger armour maps.

Yeah, they both are very good, however, both are also very exposed. On top of the building by South village even more so. Thing is, a lot of TOW's in the game are restricted in view by the sandbag walls...but they offer (small) protection.
The uncaps on FuShe Pass are the worst in the game as they have several entrances, of which only 1 is guarded: by a single TOW. Add on the fact that they dont have any armour in them: makes them the worst bases to be getting raped in if you have no flags.

True true, a lot of the things people would like in BF3 is in PR already. But PR also has a lot of things that are not liked by wider audience. A game like PR could never be as profitable as BF2 or COD4 because its not as newbie friendly as them. PR has a steep learning curve and it requires a good squad and team and commander to be fun. It also has more rules than any other FPS I ever played. A lot of new players try it and give up pretty quickly because of those things.
BF3 would have to be something in between BF2 and PR.

i get what you mean, and you're totally right, but after having played BF2 hundreds of hours i've become sick of hackers, sick of n00bs that go solo, sick of noob medics that walk over your body without giving a shit, sick of seeing someone getting hit with a 50 cal sniper rifle and running away. i prefer Pr because all this is fixed, there are no hackers, because the games aren't ranked, and because gameplay is totally different (how can you know i'm coming up at you if there is NO MINIMAP?) yes, i suppose Pr is distressing at the beginning, but after all an average Bf2 veteran can get over it quite easily and find that getting kills in PR is much more realistic and satisfing. right now there are an avereage of less than a couple hundred people that play it in the current servers, and i think a lot of servers could do with some filling.

if you've never tried it, install it and have a go, if you'll love it half as much as i do, you won't even think about BF3 for a long long time...

I definitely want the same powerful vehicles but I would like to see parts of the map be exclusive to infantry. There should be cliffs and steep valleys that limit the movement of armor and thick tree cover that gives infantry the ability to hide from helicopters.

An AT soldier should only carry one of two rockets, but be able to immobilize armor with one good hit. The driver of the tank shouldn't die in most cases, but the tank should become useless.

There should also be multi-level licensing for the use of jets and helicopters. People with the higher level of license (those who have passed the tougher tests) get priority over lower levels when it comes to getting in vehicles.

Map interactivity would also be cool. Like a spec ops soldier should be able to blow up dams and flood enemy bases.

As I've said before, they made quite a few nice changes in BF2142 that I'm sure we'll see in BF3.

* Insta-prone shooters suffers massive deviation penalties = crouch and shoot instead
* No instant healing or resupplying = medics are slightly more human in shootouts
* Squad members who follow SL orders gets more points = more squad play = more team work.

I thought of another one: get rid of punkbuster. It is the biggest piece of horse shit of an anticheat system I have ever seen. People have aimbots and wallhacks and such yet it kicks people for "losing key packets" and "handshake failures".
By the way, what the hell is a "handshake failure" anyway? And what does is mean by "heartbeats stopped"? Get rid of this complete and utter failure and get something - anything - else.

(and if you can't tell, yes, I was just playing BF2 and yes, I was kick for one of those reasons)

Are there any other anti-cheat programs? I don't get around the online games scene much, and don't much about anything else but PB. It has caught a few hackers in its time, but I mostly see people getting kicked for those reasons you mentioned.

Losing key packets, I think, means the person is lagging behind everyone else, either due to high ping, or poor computer performance. I saw these effects before being kicked for it once on HT.

Comming from Medal of Honor, there was a kick ass anti-cheat program they used.

Basically, if you didn't have the exact files that you had when you installed the game (minus the patches of course) it showed what file was different in console for everyone to see and kicked you from the server.  The instant our clan adopted this anti-cheat, I suddenly became better than everyone else who used to destroy me.

Anywho, If you wanted to mod your game (skins/blood/sound/whatever) you had to play in some other server.  I'd love to force ranked servers to use something along these lines instead of  Punk-Bust-em-if-we-feel-like-it.
