Hi !!

I am master sergeant with 22000 pts and all basic badges (except explosives) and I am not promoted to first sergeant. Was there a change in last patch ?
UBAR also says that I should be first sergeant now ?
Any hints ?

My nick is lxxx---Hawk---xxxl, but I think the prob was solved in a different thread.
It seems Master Sergeant is higher than First sergeant, but in UBAR its the other way round.
I got the badges after I reached 20.000, just the position in UBAR confused me a little bit.

No, First Sergeart is higher. If you got the badges after you got 20,000 you will be first First Sergeant and can never obtain Master Sergeant. You'll have to wait until you reach 50,000 to change your rank.

Everyone is correct that if you dont get the badges before you get to 20,000, you wont get to First Sergeant.

However, EA never planned it to be this way...

I have exactly the same problem... im 29,000 points, and cant get First Sergeant.
I did however get the badges AFTER i became Master Sergeant.

BUT, i emailed EA/DICE about it, just to see if there was a problem...

I cant get their response, because they use a ticketing system, not emails, and the ticket is now closed, and is passed the Re-Opening deadline.

But basically i remember their words being:
(note that by the sounds of their response it was a template they had already put together earlier, which im gathering was because so many people had asked the exact same question)

"We are aware that there are problems for some players reaching First Sergeant and this will be fixed in a future patch. We cannot provide a date, blah, blah, blah... Thankyou for contacting us"

From what Chuy has said numerous times, you only have one opportunity to rank up when you reach the desired number of points (regardless of whether or not EA meant it to work this way...)
so...
When you reach 20,000 points you either will get Master Sgt or First Sgt depending on if you have all the required badges or not.

I repeat: ONE CHANCE TO RANK UP!!!!!

So if you get to 20,000 with out, say, the Knife Badge, then you will not get First Sgt, you will get Master Sgt. Then you will have to wait until 50,000 to rank up.

On another note, it really isn't that big of a deal since First Sgt doesn't get you anything extra except the pretty rank with the diamond in it...
