I'm so glad Jeff and Jimmy had bad days. That pair desreves a ton of them to make up for all the NASCAR favoritism they got last year.

AJ was thrown in over his head. I hope he can make it.TC.Troy wrote:

Personally, I think AJ MIGHT make something in this series (might) if he spends a couple of years running Nationwide cars. I think atm, he's a menace on the track. Good call by Red Bull imo.
Now for the bad news...they have plunked Skinner into the car. His COT experience could be written on my thumbnail hehe. And lets face it, when you look back at Mike's history in the Cup series, he too is a menace on the track...just a faster one...
And in penalty news...

umm...about all I can say on this is...it looks like the Commision is setting a precedent here...the 99 may squeek by...
Anyone else get the feeling this may be a Roush-kateer year?

Agreed on AJ. I think Robby will be successful with his appeal, it was clearly Dodge's fault with the labeling.DSRTurtle wrote:

As for Edwards looks like they might escape.
I hope Robby get's his appeal upheld because that truly looks to be the fault of Dodge and not Robby's team that put them in that position in the first place.
Yeah I'll bet heheig wrote:

I'd like to see the difference in the oil containers, and the caps. I'd also like to know what was the problem with the CC on this car...TC.Troy wrote:

Edwards and car owner Jack Roush have been penalized 100 championship driver and 100 championship owner points, respectively. In the event the 99 team qualifies for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the team will not receive the 10 bonus points for the UAW-Dodge 400 victory used for determining the Chase seeding order. Crew chief Bob Osborne has been fined $100,000, suspended from the next six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events, suspended from NASCAR until April 30 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.

*Cue whining, pissing, and moaning by Jack Roush* Aw poor baby, got caught did ya? Serves ya right! Wonder what NASCAR didn't catch on that other win ...
buddy u must never go racing .... saturday nights and including nascar almost every single car has done something to stretch the rule book cheating in racing isnt the same as cheating in say baseball , football ....its part of the game u wanna be faster u gotta work around the rulesStingray24 wrote:
Carl says it was an "honest mistake". Roush says the bolts "worked their way loose during the race". Riiiiiiight. Why didn't everyone else with a vibration have the lid of their tank off after the race? Hmm? Geez, if they're going to cheat at least have a good excuse ready for the media.
Roush has accused other teams of cheating (and was proven wrong) and now he's getting nailed. Bout time I say. The 99 broke a rule, plain and simple. They're cover was completely OFF the tank, not just loose. This is a direct violation which is completely different from the penalties from last year where Hendrick and the 48 used shocks and setups that did not violate NASCAR rulebook. In response, NASCAR made up new rules so they could fine and penalize them. This violation by the 99 is as black and white as it gets.
