On my computer, steam wont run properly and crashes when I got to the community tab and things like that. I tried to reinstall it but i still get the same problem. Any Thoughts?

I had that problem too. Luckily, I had already ordered a new machine and it worked fine there. Sorry.

The same happens to two of my friends, whenever they get a message while in game the whole thing goes laggy and may kick them off the server/game.

Though they do have shitey computers, I thinkt hey can;t handle it.

sounds like an underlying ie problem
scratch that im wrong, i though steam used ie underneath

Well now for the second time steam wont even open, i dont want to reinstall because ill lose most of my data, if i do need to install it again tell me which files i need to save

EDIT: Well now it works, I didnt do anything, I hate steam
