I purchased a laptop from Dell last year. Didnt have the money at the time, but noticed they were offering one of the "Buy now, pay 2008" deals (interest free I might add). So thought, fuck it, might as well just go for it as then I have a year to save up the money.
When I was choosing the spec there was an option to change the color of the lid, but if you chose this option the production would be delayed by up to 20 days. So I decided not to go with this as I wanted it asap. Ordered my spec, and it was suppsed to be delivered within two weeks. Two weeks came and past and still no laptop, so emailed them.
The reply that I got back was:
"The production of your order has been delayed due to a Global shortage of Glass"
!!!!
Thought this was the funniest reason they could have come up with.
