Need to get something for my mom! Help!

Ok, so here's the deal. I've been living in NYC for a few months and I'm moving back home on Friday. I bought a nice necklace from Tiffany's for my girlfriend but I have no idea what I'm gonna get my Mom. And not anything expensive, so jewelry is out of the question. I would say something simple but nice, definitely not more than $50.
The reason I want to get her something is first of all because I'm coming home after being away for a while and you usually bring gifts home after you been travelling. And also because she was the one that hooked me up with this trip to NYC in the first place. (And payed for the ticket). So the least I can do is bring her a small gift.
But What?! Tomorrow is my last chance at buying something and I don't know what...

So any ideas would be appreciated.

The problem is I am going to Sweden, which is home for me, so an american gift certificate is no good there. Otherwise it would be a good Idea.

Lol, I allready got two . But they are for my sis and my girlfriends sis. Dont think my mom would ever wear it and I'd rather get something else.

I have enjoyed my stay a lot. NY is a great city, lot of wierd people though . I could definitley see myself living here.

Buying a purse for a girl/woman is very hard. The most likely outcome is that she will appreciate you giving it to here but never use it because of various reasons.

On a more serious note, try getting her a nice purse (I know, it's already been mentioned) or handbag from one of those department stores. Even if it's $60 it's worth it - especially when you say that you have your mum to thank for you getting to NYC. Be generous!
