Did anyone suggest The Guns of the Navarone yet?  Otherwise all the other movies mentioned in the thread look totally fine by my standards. 

Life is Beautiful; Tea with Mussolini was actually a good film; nice to see Stalingrad being mentioned; Platoon; Full Metal Jacket; carry on!

I would have to agree with most of you one saving private ryan.

i was lucky in 2006 on vets day they showed that at the Alamo draft house an went to see it. talk about one of the greatest movies to watch on big screen.

I also like band of brothers i watch it every yr. i have the dvd set.

i also like the patriot.
