Converting GIFs to VTF files

For those who didn't know VTF = Valve Texture File = The file used for sprays.

I'm trying to make a GIF into a VTF file, and I can't seem to find a way to do it. Can anyone out there tell me how? Thanks.

Targa(TGA) files work fine for sprays on Source, Im guessing your trying to make a clear background spray.

Anywho, if you really want to convert a spray to VTF you can download Source SDK and theres a batch file in there called vtex, i can't be bothered to go into much more detail because i dont have SDK downloaded atm, but there is a special way to use it. A quick google search should give you all the info you need.
