Why is it that the harder you try and get away from someone who is behind you in a jet the easier it is for them to kill you? It never fails, I think EA coded it into the game, just like the shoot first die first rule.

I was flying on Wake Island, and I'm in the J-10. Sorry, for any of you that thinks the J-10 is noob, but it was there, I took it. Long story short, I got shot down FIVE goddamn times every time I was flying my ass off, turning hard, switching directions, flaring when needed. But if I don't really care I don't get touched. If I am in the F-35, I can shoot at a J-10 that doesn't flare, doesn't turn, doesn't tilt, I miss every fucking time.

Your missles shouldn't dodge if they aren't turning/flaring. Personally it's how I kill j10s, wait untill they go to refuel and they go straight and slow down a bit, switch to missle mode and spam my fire key as quickly as possible, most of the time the pilot doesn't have enough time to do ANYTHING at all. The jet is usually dead within half a second of me shooting.

Spam missles without lock, it's how j10s are supposed to be killed.

I know, which is kinda why I'm pissed. It happens all the time. I get up behind some rookie who is in the J-10 and start shooting missiles and they don't hit. And it makes me even more upset when those same missiles take me out in the J-10 when I'm running my ass off. I half want to punch them in the face and half want to give them the WTF Award of the Day.

The best way to take down a jet (J10, F35 or SU) is flying Heli. With a low ping you shot him down, then he call you cheater but leave you alone. Sometimes when he is gay, left the server. Damn jets agree

Ping also matters a bit, I was flying the f18 against some guy in the mig with 7 ping. It was horrible. Every bullet, every missle he shot killed me or anyone else flying.

Put simply: You can't fly.

You can't expect to fly a jet for a few hours and master it, it all comes down to practice and experience.

J10s shouldn't have a problem evading missiles, just hit afterburner and turn as tight as you can, maybe do a few corkscrews. Also, when you get locked on switch views with the cycle camera button (C on keyboard by default) and watch behind you, when the first missile is about to hit you, flare and turn.

The Nooooooooo kid. Always one of the worst players on your team this kids natural defense to sucking balls is to just say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO every 5 seconds, which also seems to be his average life span. This kid complains like his mom is sending him to bed early or something. It's like clockwork watching him take a bullet to the head and as his character falls lifelessly to the ground all you hear is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Possibly the funniest thing i've ever heard is an 8 yr old get headshot and blurt out "OH NOOOOOOO". I mean, how fucking hysterical is killing an 8 yr old? ..............besides very.

Hmmm...don't wanna join this flame fest, but it's usually pretty damn easy to dodge air-to-air missiles with the J10 (and eurofighter).
The game can be random and frustrating at times, but put in the practice and that shouldn't be a problem.

I strongly suggest you check out the jet guide on the wiki. Good hints and videos to help you get started.

Some basic tips -

1. Watch your back! Set your view keys to something useful, you don't want to press C x5 just to look behind then forward again. I set Q to reverse view and space to cockpit view. When dogfighting I spend as much time as possible in reverse view (just make sure to maintain your altitude ).

2. Turn hard and fast. You say you dodge about and still get hit...try longer turns. Any change in direction makes you an easier target.

3. Use flares effectively. Save them for when the missiles are chasing you; again, use rear view to check this. Then the idea is to keep the flares between you and the missiles/enemy jet for as long as possible. Plenty of tips about how to do this out there; just remember flares aren't 'fire and forget'...if you keep going straight they will fall away from you and give you little to no cover.
