Have you tried googling the problem at all?
you are very kind, thanks for your time manok, i'll try analog now...no problem. i'll be back in a few minutes. in the ingame, all i changed was the resolution, so that it was 16:9 instead of 4:3.
check your drivers, if they are not updated for your monitor then you'll have trouble. What I do not get is why it would run single player and not multi-player. that's bizarre.
in the ingames i didnt changed nothing... i changed the video.con in the default and profile folder as 800x600@60hz but it permit only to start bf2 and play offline mode... if i click on multiplayer server, i get crashed to desktop. it is bizarre yes...
drivers of ati, are the latest, 8.1
monitor drivers are from cd.. ithink that they arent so old...i could find from website samsung...hmmm....
Do you get any error message at all?
Try running in windows mode to see if you get any error outside the game?

it works...with analog, @ 1280x1024. DVI looks better, though.
I remember I had problems with the setup on my dad's old laptop. I had to find another driver, I cannot remember where i put it...but look up driver for the x223 on google, you should be able to find something.

with my last monitor, an 19" i was playing with no problem at 1280x1024 too... thanks anyway my european brother
yes, i read you. The thing is, I've got no 1680x1050 s\displayed in the game. I do not think it was programmed into bf2: they didn't have 16:10s back in 2004/5. It's relatively new.
On an aside: for the laptop, i checked. it was also xp pro sp2, and needed new drivers. i got them, see above, and it now works. but I personally recommend 1280x1024, otherwise the minimap gets too small, in my opinion. cheers!
p.m. me with further details.

Just get rid of the command line and play it at the highest resolution in game. It looks pretty bad to me forced widescreen.
What I mean't was. You know how you enter in the resolution manually? like 1680 x 1050 in the command line? If that is in there while you change your BF2 video settings in-game, you can screw BF2 up to the point where you need to reinstall.ITA=TNT<SEREUPIN> wrote:

Did you edit your video settings when you had the wide screen extension in the .exe? I've heard that'll screw BF2 up.
thanks you again to all men....
PS: the most strange thing for me, it is that I can enter in the menu... i can enter in offline mode and play inside there... but if i try to click on every multiplayer server, i have always a crash .... bf2 crashs and i come back to desktop
I found your problem
You should have done exactly what Lucien said. He said to change the string to 800x600@75Hz (actually the Hz doesn't matter, set to 60 if you want). But that 1680x1050 string you put in is what is making the game crash, since BF2 doesn't support widescreen resolutions. Set it to 800x600 and it will work fine. And yes, you will be able to play at native res, as long as you added "+szx 1680 +szy 1050" to the shortcut's target.

VideoSettings.setResolution 1680x1050@60Hz
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing 2
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 2
my video resulution i think that it is 1680x1050@60mhz, not 75mhz
I use the widescreen fixer program v1.32 for bf2 1.41. Resolution 16:10, update rate, 100.
the games 2d gfx (the hud, scoreboard, all menus) run at 1280 x 1024 stretched to fit. bf2 video settings read 1280 x 1024 @ 60hz, all settings high.
The 3d graphics run at native, no stretching at 1920 x 1200, all settings on high at 100 fps. I have a Samsung 24" SyncMaster 245BW.
the shortcut reads:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200
maybe the problem is something else? i don't have any problems with mine, except the stretched HUD, but that wont be fixed unless BF2 has true widescreen support.

in this way i can log in the menu game... i can play offline sever... but if i go to multiplayer server, when i click for to login, bf2 crash and i come back to the desktop...
the string of the link it is as you said too.
i tried also your string... "G:\Giochi\EA GAMES\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 +restart 1mnishimura00 wrote:

the program "Widescreen Fixer 1.32" i dont know how to use it... i readed to type semi-colon, but when i have to click that on keyboard? then, i cant type semi-colon ---> ";" because for to type this ";" i have to click "shift and ," i cant type it directly with only one push...
What sort of keyboard is that? ...ITA=TNT<SEREUPIN> wrote:

just delete your bf2 folder in my documents. thats it.
Put +fullscreen 0 in your parameters. This (should) give you an error when it crashes.
Editing the file so that +1 widescreen is there doesn't do anything, there's a program PB safe that gives you a wider field of view, search to find it, I'm a bit busy.

Does it crash then?
