Im planning to isntall vmware but the problem is its not mine i have the serial converter and I read that.

*Note I have a friend knows someone who works at vmware corp and they don't blacklist serials that will disable parts of the program but they do a server authorization check to see if the serial is pirated and if it is, they record your IP. He told me the only way they wouldn't know is if you delete the vmware server authorization from the startup.

anyone know if this is true

Unless there's a reason you need the non free version why not use Vmware server

You should not be using pirated stuff, but yeah it true it does not check. It talks out to search for updates, but you can turn that off. I think MS Virtual PC is free, for what you will be doing with it this may suffice.

Not sure if you can actually build the VM or you have to use prebuilt appliances. Same with VMWare player - you can run prebuilt ones, but you need VMWare workstation to build them.
