Or attempt to address the problems that create social deviation in the first place. I wouldn't know how myself but eliminating the giant gap between the rich and poor seems like it would be a good start.

Even further - end mandatory minimum sentences too. Revisit cases where people were sentenced to 200 years because they robbed a store when they were 18 in 1950. The prison system is a joke, prison gaurd lobby groups are seriously in bed with government (at least in California).Turquoise wrote:
