wow all of the cuts happened to only one finger, but what happens when it involves, lets say, four fingers, well then you get my story about how using gas powered hedge trimmers to cut perenials down can be dangerous, especially when your female boss is the when using the trimmers and your the poor schumck holding the plants.

in all serious-ness this was a fluke accident, we had been doing this all day long and were about 15 minutes away from being done when it happened. and the worst part about it was not only was it a monday, but i had just bought guitar hero 3 the day before and had been thinking about playing it all day and then BAM all four of my left fingers go into the blades of the hedge trimmer.

the hospital was fun to, the gave me a nice cocktail shot for pain in the arm and then two shots for each finger, but they couldnt get the needle through my skin and the account that i have tough skin, or so said the doc, then later that night i work up at midnight to find my index finger had bled through all the gauss and was dripping on my pillow, so back to the hospital i went, this time around the soulderized (sp? they burned it shut)
my finger,

anyway pics are two days later during the first at home bandage change, just had to take pics....

I just did on a glass 2 minutes ago. But I'm solid and don't need to make threads. Burned like an Alabama tick stuck in a volcano.

That's going in my sig ...

oStone, your hedge trimmer certainly wins. But then, yours was with a powertool and doesn't necessarily count. We all injured ourselves because we were being stupid.

Lol 2 incidents of people stabbing themselves accidently:

1: My mum n dad were arguing while my dad was preparing dinner. He had a sharp knife in his hand n went to stab it in the chopping board (holding it with his hand around the handle n the blade at the bottom of his hand), his hands were still wet from washing them, his little finger slipped off the handle and the blade sliced the whole way through his tendon. Funny thing is, he was still so angry he refused to let my mum drive him to hospital n did it himself.

2: We were fucking about in some woods near a mates house. One of my mates had recently been mugged, n decide to bring a knife with him (the kind which has two things on either that are locked in, stoppin the blade from comin out, n when you push the bottom up n pull them out, the blade comes out. Except the bit on the side was broken, so when you just pushed the bottom of the knife, the blade can straight out). So me n another mate jumped a river n waited for the third guy to join us. We'd walked off round the corner when we heard "Joe, Ali help!!!" n we figured he jus fallen in the river, so we walk back laughin n see him at the bottom of the river bank with his hands over the back off his calf n blood spraying out between his fingers. Turns out, when he jumped across he'd had the knife in the side pocket of his cargos. He landed n when he bent his legs from the impact, the knife got stuck between the back of his thigh n his calf, the impact forced the knife out n he felt it when it hit the back of his shin bone, slicing the main artery on the way! His physio in rehab said he hadnt seen mucle damage that bad since the last gunshot wound. Was fucking grim at the time, n I had to sprint through the woods looking for the ambulance crew cos they got fucking lost!

That's a good story Benni. I've got 1 or 2 but they're my fault so I don't feel like telling them.

???????? Apparently you've never seen raw sutures before. I had twelve sutures, all packed tightly together. I've seen better stitching. I think the ER doc I had was slightly ... well, dumb.

But you call it "dried carpet" and believe it is. Especially when carpet is naturally fucking dry.

Dryness will not stick to dryness, So it was wet when your finger made contact with the carpet, then the carpet dried and now it's able to stick to your finger.

Carpet is not dry when it touches wet blood, but you can believe it is.

wear proper gloves? unless you mean some kind of kevlar glove, which would be to expensive for work thats only done a few days a year, i actually glad i had taken my gloves off, would have been a little harder to take them off after the hedge trimmer cut my fingers to hell
