Power supply, cooling. Most common problems.

it might not be graphics lag, it might be internet lag.  what kind of pings do you get while in a server?

even though you have 2gb of ram, what programs are you running in the background?  things like chat programs and anti-virus programs can be ram whores.  close your active programs and retry.

I thought I didn't have to include a power supply or cooling specs but I have an antec 500wat smart power also my system stays about 100F witch is pretty good usually if I have cooling problems the game crashes in the first few minutes of playing it. Depends from sever to server somtimes I have a low ping and it lags some times I have high and it doesn't lag its all very strange. What do I run In the backround? All I run is avast anti-virus and micrsoft anti-spyware. Another thing after playing the game a while it just lags and I have to restart the computer to go back to normal.  Also the system cost $1800 usd.

If you have lags because of your connection, it might be because of a WLAN router. Had the same problem here... just use a normal cable connection and you´re good...
And disable all anti-virus or firewall stuff !

well i'd recommend closing or disabling your anti-virus programs while you play, then re-enabling them when you stop playing.  i do the same and have had no problems yet.  i've also yet to hear of anyone contracting viruses, spyware, or adware while playing BF2 so i don't see it as a big security threat.

it still might be your ping though.  all the servers i play on...i usually have between 20-60 ping and i get no lag whatsoever.  however, i also play with my graphics on all the lowest settings, despite having a geforce6800 and a gig of ram...graphics just dont mean a whole lot to me.

No need to disable firewall or antivirus... yes they can slow you down but only fractionally, and at a point where you probably wouldn't notice.

Have you got problems with spyware or adware.... maybe your internet connection is being hijacked by some adware that's trying to redirect traffic... it does happen... and although you have the system to run everything on high, have you tried to lower some settings to see if that works

I do a spyware scan everyday so I don't think I have any spyware. Shut off thoses anti-virus and spyware software game worked better. I'll try a few different things see if they work or not thx for the help.

I hate spy/adware!!! (OK, just had to get that off my chest - thank you!)

I too have your exact problem - laggy, funky graphics with missing ground or a big fat white square blocking my vision.

I too run adware scans on a frequent basis, and from personal experience - run several different programs. I'm not saying that you arn't - but for anyone else - just because one program says you'r clean doesn't mean you are!

I am currently a ad-aware SE plus user, and that shows no problems - then I hit SpyBot - Search and Destroy and *tadaa* 112 problems found.

Irritating yes - but still, do several scans with different programs.

Hope you'r sorted out soon!

It might be your X2 4400+.  I have a X2 3800+ and had to download some patches for everything to work right (now it's butter smooth!).  Did you install the AMD X2 driver and the MS hotfix?  This forum saved me from insanity!  http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho … hp?t=81429

I hope this is the solution since i know how frustrating it can be.  Good luck!

Well I got the problem fixed connection problem I didn't realise that my brother who plays the game used so much bandwith. I don't think I have any add ware I just formated and re-installed a day ago. Anways thx for the help but does anyone know of a bandwith limter I can use with my linksys router so I can lower my brothers computers bandwith to like 10mbps instead of 100.

Install NetLimiter on his PC and you can check highest possible Down/Upload to be for every application, I use it mostly for "traffic shaping", which seems can't be done perfectly by any router on the world
