Now we all know that in American Film maker and game developers' eyes, there are only 2 British accents: Cockney and Posh.
Cockney is only in a small part of London, and posh is only in some bits of the South, IN GENERAL.
So, I start playing SF, only to find the Commander waffling on about "Friendly Arty moving in to baseline position".
The SAS are NOT posh! And they certainly do NOT come from one area of the country. There are those who come from Manchester, Portsmouth (Myself, though of course I am not in the SAS), Leeds, Newcastle, anywhere in Somerset or Devon, to name but a few. So WHY, may I ask, do Dice implement the Americans with a rough and ready, gruff sort of accent, and the brits with a bleedin' "Oh, let's sit down and talk this over with a nice cup of Earl Grey tea"?

Bloody Hell, I hate how they stereotype us.

...so youre saying you dont talk things over with a cup of tea?

i dont see what the problem is...unless youre upset they left scones out of the game...

all kidding aside, yeah, we know the british accent is ridiculous.  it just sounds like they had some guys walk in off the street and do their best british accent impersonations.  i doubt it will be changed...so i guess we just have to live with it.

no, he sees that the SAS accents are gay, they speak what the brits call "the queens english" like james bond kinda, not like real SAS life,  i want to see some changes in the british accent

They needed to get some Manc U fans to do the voice overs for the SAS team. It sounds like a monty python character doing them now. "Friendly arty, my good man, watch your bum" wtf?

I can't make out what they say while calling for a medic, it sounds like "skylight"

i suppose if you think of it, it's kind of like them using the Barry Corbin voice for the "tutorial" help and USMC commander

although yeah, not all the american troops have that voice so i guess you've got a good reason to be disappointed

exactly wtf is it with them saying "skylight" or something to that matter.  there are other things they say that i dont understand O_O and they do sound gay, how is it suppose to scare me when they say that they are going to replace me in such a gay voice

i thought ALL the voices sound whimpy in this game. especially when you think about how they actually communicate in real life. most special forces (SAS, SEAL) use throat mics. throat mics pick up vibrations from the skin around the vocal chord and not the sound that comes out of your mouth. experienced soldiers learn how to communicate clearly with a throat mic by whispering and not yelling in an annoying way like it is on the game.

It's 'cos they're The Best In The World! They're so good they speak the queens english and have code words to confuse the enemy. Yes it is 'skylight', there's also 'foxhounds' which is 'I need backup'.

BTW, I'm british, I don't speak the queens english, but I do like the SAS voices - they're top hole old chap.

If it had jets the pilots would have to talk Banter!

At least we have the posh-est accents on BF2/SF whereas the French don't even feature. Thank God for that!

Haha Give em a gordie or a scoucer accent that would be sweet, nobody would have a clue wtf they were on about, personally My favourite would to have Vinnie Jones doing the voice overs for the british Sas, nobody would want to fuck with that.. hes one badass motherfucker

That's it! For the next expansion pack - the French - they could have 3 new abilities - eating cheese, surrendering and climbing trees.

Oh and naturally we face off with the frogs with the added bonus that our main bases are uncappable. It'd be interesting to hear a downed frog calling for a medic by crying out "ribbit". Now that's authenticity for ya!

If anyone has an xbox and has played the game Armed and Dangerous, You should notice the little bald psychic dude who is trying to manipulate some germans.  He gets the idea to make them french so, They drop their mp40's raise their hands yelling "WE SURRENDER!!!"  Then they run, and the main character says "nice idea"
