I've been getting this message at the login screen for several hours now. Can't login to my online account but works okay for offline. Nothing on the comp has changed except i just replaced the LCD on my lappy ... really though that can't be the issue.

Servers down? what gives?

Problem solved.

Apparently windows update (on vista) downloaded and installed new drivers for the gfx card... apparently BF2 and the new drivers don't get along. Just rolled back the drivers and it's working.
