This might help, go into your CoD4 Main folder, take the profiles folder and copy and paste onto a seperate drive or CD thats not being formatted then when you format install CoD4 take your profiles folder from before and replace the existing one. Hope this helps in the near future for anyone.

There is some way of downloading a save game and inserting it into CoD4 so you start off with rank 55 and all the gun unlocks. It switches your CD key to someone else's so you'll need to change it back to yours in the registry afterwards. You can google it. You still won't have your precious statz.
