STOL version, might be called VTOL in the American Marines. Ability to take of in a small area and hover make it my favourite.dayarath wrote:
which one of the JSF series and why. I personally like the soviet planes more than western ones due to their simplicity but incredible sturdiness, they can take almost everything and are extremely maneuverable, for some reason western planes are almost solely built for hit and run tactics, and in air to air i'm almost sure they'll turn out inferior to the SU and MIG designs. + they're considerably more expensive due to lots and lots of techy stuff on board, but that's where they undoubtfully excell.jord wrote:

how can you have a favorite weapon when youve never used it?
I've never flown a JSF but it's still my favourite fighter jet.
Su-37 is atm one of my favorites, just look at it go: (at 1;40 he just throws tons of iron into the air.)
Step dad used the SLR in various conflicts when he was in the Royal marines. Swears by it.Lai wrote:

However, if I had to make a practical choice; if I was dropped in an urban combat situation, unexperienced with a 7.62 as I am, I would pick the P90 any day. I also like the MP5 but the inadeqacy of any of the chamberings in piercing body-armor is a serious drawback these days.
Similary I would take a Five-Se7en for a handgun, though I find the CZ75/75B/85 a FN Browning HP or, more modern, the FNP-9 aesthetically more appealing.
One of the most beautifull handguns in my opinion would be a Beretta FS92 Vertec, but with the heavy Brigadier slide and the Elite magazines, all in matt-black finish, yet with a bare Inox barrel.

then why not the harrier versions instead of the F35 :p? or you just think it looks betterSTOL version, might be called VTOL in the American Marines. Ability to take of in a small area and hover make it my favourite.
Harrier is outdated. If it wasn't there would be no need for a new vertical take off jet.dayarath wrote:

Most of the UK harriers can barely hold hover for more than 60 seconds at the moment.dayarath wrote:

Frankly they don't need to hover for more than 60 seconds anyway.FatherTed wrote:

They do however, require constant maintenance and updating.dayarath wrote:

and that's because the planes currently in use are already old, when planes get old they need this all the time, yep F35B is superior to it but still I love the good old harriers :-)jord wrote:

The JSF isn't a vertical take off yet. The closest it gets is its STVTOL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) version. I must say I liked the JSF at first but the choices that have been made during its development have made me dislike it. E.g. the choice for Lockheed Martin instead of Boeing and the associated alignment of the air vent(s) and the configuration of it's engines. The new JSF will be little more than an update F22 and is a poor choice for any European country since it renders them completely dependend on US weapon supplies (the JSF's integrated weapon systems accept only American weapons).jord wrote:

And my uncle makes parts to the JSF. And it looks nicer as well.
They overheat rapily, are relatively uncontrolable in full auto because of the high rate of fire resulting from the shortening of the gas tube and the effectiveness of the .223 becomes limited (if it even ever was effective in the first place) because of the required reduced load).Freezer7Pro wrote:

I just like them, they're small and effective.
