Its quite ironic considering the fact that around 200-300 years ago it was quite common for a guy in the late 20s and even in the mid 30s or so marry a girl at 14 or so years of age.

Agreed, it is abhorrent now, but 300yrs ago life expectancy was only 30-40.I think we can all agree marriage to a 14 year old 300 years ago is far different than preferring sex with children.
