whats it like to be under anesthesia?
Surgery for what?
hernia. finally getting it taken care of.
Its like waking up with a hangover.
if ur getting laugh n gas thingy done to u, it wont even hurt a bit.
It Isn't that special you feel a bit numb afterwards and I had a weird taste for a day...
Best not to drive around afterwards it "blurs" your perception....

It's like nothing. When I had surgery, I wasn't really out, they just gave me stuff so I could relax. I talked about stupid shit to the really cute nurse that was up at my head. I was kind of awake but dreamy at the same time. It was very relaxing and the hours just flew by. I don't know what kind of surgery you're having, but you should be more curious about what's it going to feel like post-surgery. You might be in a lot of pain!
It doesn't feel like anything. Because you're numb and/or asleep.
they said its gonna take 45 minutes for the procedure but Ive got to show up two hours early and stay 5 hours afterwards.
you dont feel anything when its going up your arm (if thats what there going to do) but i swear before i got knocked out it all went blurry and i could hear lots of voices in my head
lol it rocks. I talk from experience.
The room pretty much melts in front of your eyes, and you don't really remeber much after. I can't remember waking up lol!!
good luck m8

General or local?
Anybody here ever get a spinal? Holy crap that was painful. "Don't move at all!" Yeah okay on that one.
general.
Had an op a few years back (sex change) and going under the anesthetic was alright. I'd had the General anesthetic, l lay there abit and the next thing l know l'm a wake in a bed getting force fed yogurt. Good luck lad.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

General...
Well i had it administered, then about what felt like 2 minutes later i fell asleep, and woke up just after the operation, and that was it. It's a nice sort of sleep, really peaceful.
And yeh, then they keep you in for some observation, make sure you can eat and drink (in case you react to something i think), then let you go.
Don't worry about it, its easy as pie, and not painful in anyway.
Whats the operation for?
Oh, and if you get the chance, ask for morphine after surgery. That stuff's fun as hell!

Don't go for gas, it fucks with your thoat and leaves a bad taste for a day or two.
