How much tweaking do you do?

Nothing, pretty much out of the box settings	14%	14% - 26
A few things, mostly settings on the options page	20%	20% - 36
Moderate, change localization files, mini-map opacity	36%	36% - 64

Do you change alot of your bf2 settings? Personally, I use the default install options except the crosshair color. I'm just wondering what the rest of you bf2'ers go with.

If you do change alot of your settings, would you say it has helped your gameplay significantly? I know some players swear by some of the settings they make in the console to improve their tv missle hitboxes, and hitreg issues. Do they really help?

Everything, but the difference is pretty negligible unless you play on the same server forever and spend days tweaking for just that server's connection + yours. Otherwise every time you change servers, you can't tell if the tweaks are helping or hurting, and they have such minor impact that it doesn't really matter.

remapped half a dozen keys, combined leetkyle's localization files with someone else's and added some choice swear words...graphics on high...and that's pretty much it.

I changed a lot. I went through that whole bf2 tweaking guide that was posted here a while back. My comp is shite so I needed to do everything I could just to get 20 fps with everything on low

I don't think I agree with anyone here...

I change the whole lot and it makes a huge difference when I play where I set the settings for...

Look it's like this I live in the UK...

My clan is in the US...

When I play UK servers and have install settings everything is cool...

If I wanna play US servers it all goes pair shaped... Dust hit box problems lag..."There is a problem with your connection"

This is frustrating cause I have an awesome rig and a wicked 6 down and .7 up...

If I make the changes then everything is cool, like nothing has changed I even think it might be a little more accurate, but were talking about in a crowded server and everyone is rushing for a flag, cause the more thats happening around you in BF2 the worse it gets right or is that only me anyway hope that helps and would be happy to say which settings if your intrested.

Lots of keybind changes (prone, parachute, radio, rear view, etc etc) and mouse sensitivity boosted.

Localisation files slightly edited (NATO designations for vehicles rather than just numbers).

Latency compensation altered and PB sleep maxed.

Crosshair colour changed to red, static map enabled.

Moderate it is then

if there was a setting to reduce the number of headshots i give out with absolutely no effect on the enemy, then it would definitely help my gameplay.
