Learning through film is very worthwhile. Just snapping teaches you little.
Take photo - process film - print negs - analyse errors - repeat. It makes you work much harder on the first bit so as not to make the rest a complete waste.
When you don't have the spare cash to burn through a lot of film it concentrates your mind too.

We through a big flat bed camera out last week, would take shots about 24" square. You put the image in on paper and it transfers it to film, then you develop it, then you transfer the positive onto a screen then you can screen print.
Now you scan the image in, add the words on corel draw and print it straight to film. Instead of taking 8 shots of it and doing the artwork on a drawing board you click 'repeats' and tell the software in which order you want your sign repeated.
Print that 10 times and you have 80 signs, 5 mins in a guillotine and bobs ya uncle, hey presto. Money money money.

Pops started on film.. tried to get me into it. Sure, it's a lot more unique now-a-days but I wouldn't have the patience for it.
Probably my last bug shot for a while. I need more varied subjects, or to find a very cooperative one to let me try something new out

Is that all Photoshop burnzz? Or was Lightroom and/or Photomatix used as well?

i've been doing a lot of these panoramas because my CS5 demo is about to expire. . .
the halo around the trees is from the HDR merge, i toned it down - you should've seen it on "high" settings. i like the contrast HDR brings out, i don't like the 'wild', over saturated pictures it sometimes produced.Finray wrote:

photomatix 3.2 is now 64 bit - photomatix for the merge, and CS5 for the stitch, crop, and a little levels and curves . . .ebug9 wrote:
