So just playing crysis the other day, and I kept hitting huge parties of like 9+ guys, I found they wouldnt die when i shot them repeatedly in the stomach on auto, and they needed a difficult headshot to kill.

I was using their assault rifle to kill them and they also were whoring flares, just making some big ass jungle firefights which is kind of annoying after a 15 minute shootout...

Any tips on this or anything else youd like to say?

Never aim for their bodies.  For some reason, I've unloaded 30+ bullets in their guts and they don't die.  Headshots are required.  Use strength mode when at a distance to get some good headshots in before they realize what's going on.

Strength mode decreases the breathing movement, so it's easier to aim. Also, when in a big firefight, hide behind something then use camo and slowly crawl behind them, then grab them and take them out silently. This is what I love about this game, tactics and opportunities. Quite replayable imo.

Go Invisible, get right up close to them with your shotgun ready, then party time.

since the AI is so stupid its easy to kill them off. Just go into cloak mode and get behind a nearby rock or something. Then let your suit recharge, go cloak, pop out from behind the rock, quickly switch into armor, shoot one, quickly go back into cloak. Repeat until all the enemies are dead.

What he said.

It an excellent tactic for that super hard mode (delta ops?), just be sure to swap to another suit mode, because firing in cloak mode will completely deplete your suit energy and you won't be able to recloak. Also, use the shotgun in the low spread mode, which takes them out in 1-2 hits.

Shoot one from cloak, run behind cover, go invisible, run behind them and repeat.

Yeah I figured out the whole strenght mode by accident..,

And yeah i also figured out the whole cloaking thing, apparently 4 is to switch to armor so you can really use cloak, get up in someones face press 4 real quick headshot, then cloak again...

I also found when fighting large groups, +6 in a small area that it is a good idea to go cloak, run up to an enemy, grab him by the throat, use him as a shield... The Koreans are even hesitant to shoot with shotguns so they either let their friendlys shoot or pull out a pistol! Then after about two guys down your guy in the hand is going to be dead so just throw them into a few guys, switch to armor and finish off

Also the laser pointer and sniper scope really, really helps.

And any good tactics from hiding from choppers when choppers are LOOKING for you and you cant really destroy them? (besides cloak)

And one more, I just picked up the "GAUSS" gun (i think thats what its called)   It was extremely powerful, so I swapped it out for my Sub Machine gun, I think this was a terrible mistake... It seems powerful, but I can only kill one enemy at a time with it, then the next level came.... Is it any good? Is it worth swapping a Submachine gun with 400 Rounds for? Any strats with it?

Thanks all

what was your other weapon besides the SMG when you grabbed the gauss.

Gauss is like an uber sniper rifle, its REALLY effective against the aliens later on, and extremely effective against NK soldiers and nano soldiers.

It wasnt the mods I was afraid about, it was the powerful 50 round mag with like zero recoil and a really nice silenced effect

The other weapon im using is the AK style weapon, Pistols (of course) Rocket Launcher, Det packs, nades etc.

And good to know about teh GAUSS, im at the level right after the tanks. Should I just pick up another weapon and wait for the aliens in a later map or should I hold onto the Gauss cause Im going to use it fairly soon? I only have like 16 rounds for it or something but I wanted to try it

Also I wanted to know what other type of modifications I should be looking forward to... I currently have below \/

Sniper Scope
Acog (assault scope)
Laser pointer
Rifle Grenade Launcher
Flashlight
Barrel Silencer
Default Tranquliser (how do I know if i have the remote detonated ones that I see in the trailers?)
Reflex Sight

And I have picked up smoke nades, I think flashbangs (i think that was in COD4 though) and regular frags

Im pretty sure I havent picked up a few...

What should I be looking forward to and how much more game do I have if I just beat the level with tanks (your actually driving the tanks)

you're close to the aliens, but i dont want to give anything away. personally the AK+Gauss combo is great. gauss for long range light vehicle/infantry destruction and the AK for everything else.

Yeah, and like lost, we're going to have to wait ages for the next installment.

From memory, if you just got the gauss gun from the VTOL after the tank level, you're near the mine entrance. There isn't much more ammo for it where you are now, but you do get quite a few more rounds for it when you get to the dig site itself.
Just a warning without giving too much away - don't hoard your ammo, use it when you need to. Ignore the little voice that says "Should I use it? I might be needing it later". If I were to play it though again, I would have used the gauss gun a lot more, rather then just trying to snipe with the AK.

Headshots depend on where you hit, It takes 2 shot if you hit the infantries helmet but only one if you get it straight in the face of him.

I shot a Nano soldier about 10 times with a Guass rifle before he died.

As for strategy:
If you're in cloak and plan on shooting someone, hit 5 to decloak. If you shoot while cloaked, you'll lose all your suit energy. If you decloak first, you'll have most of it back by the time you're done killing your target, letting you cloak instantly.

lol i figured that out... I was SOOOO PISSED!

300 rounds incindeary ammo
max explosives
rocket launcher
300 AK rounds
10 grenade launcher rounds
3+ smoke nades
10 frag nades
4 flashbangs

GOD! I was so pissed. I was going to enter the thingy in the mine today, but I watched Harry Potter (the new one) what a waste of fucking time that was.

PS: I know what you mean about the gauss gun, I got 3 headshots and it = no kill.

I think that the more dist, the more velocity of the round. I think that the range is porportionate to the velocity and killing power.... *hrm, physics and video games... cool :d*

Silencer also makes a big differences in the power of your weapon. I found I could unload a mag into a guy and he'd still be running around, but without the silencer you can drop them a lot faster.

In this game, stealth is basically your best friend. There are tons of opportunities to use it, and almost always most effective when your in a tight situation with maybe 10 guards patrolling a site. If your the kind of guy that just likes to gun and run, that fine, but there are so many other strategy's to take advantage of, such as creating diversions, grabbing people from behind, and killing them behind a bush or something so other don't notice, using the darts to take out guards temporarily, and more. After playing single player twice, both in Delta mode, the scar really is an efficient and dependable weapon to use. It's very effective when taking people out, and customizable for your needs in certain situations. I'd suggest using it only when you need to throughout the game.

dan, what kind of diversions do you create? Taking trees out, throwing shit around?   How do they not see you throw things though if theyre looking?

I found that if you shoot somone, they scramble and you shoot until they take cover and you can see them. then you stop shooting (silenced of course)  and they think that your on the opp side of the cover because your no longer shooting, then its like fish in a barrel (cheesey, but true) but you have to take instant kill headshots

Nope, not quite. When I say diversions, its not that simple stuff that people keep mentioning. What I mean is be creative, such as grabbing a barrel (and yeah there are PLENTY of instances where you can grab a barrel without anyone seeing), better yet, those flammable barrels, toss it into something collapsible, and there you go, attention diverted to the problem area and make your move. By the way, speaking of those red barrels, fire one shot with the silenced pistol into it, grab it while its flaming, throw it at them, and it'll explode right in there face. Another diversion, you know those towers where the snipers are situated? Toss a grenade right up there, and when it explodes, diversion created. The AI is not as dumb as you think it is. If you're hiding behind those short walls while doing this, it's not like they take a lucky guess every time and find you.

the pistol in the gas barrel is JEANUS! *really* especially to destroy shit and cars probably, or make a smoke screen

and did you ever, "Blow up the gas station" in that one level? i kept shooting it, even with the Rocket Launcher and it still didnt blow!

I thought it was the one with those red tower-tube things.... but I must have been wrong... wtf was that?

Yeah I think I know what you're talking about, is it the part where you have to cross the stream, get past those two soldiers on those machine guns? I remember blowing it up with ease, never really had a problem, probably just another bug in the game that you happened to come across.
