Not really. I think there may be a bug with their sound processor. I know for a fact that in Single Player the center channel fires off the LOUDEST when I am facing 180 to the person speaking when I should be facing them to get the 100% actor voice.

any advantage you get using the G3 or the M14 (both are sweet with silencers)...aim for the head, shoot, rinse, repeat

if the badguy is in the next room, of course they will hear you but on maps like overgrown and pipeline...they'll have trouble figuring where the shot came from
