What do you think are the top five or ten U.S. states, and the bottom five U.S. states?

You can provide reason should you wish to.

Top 5:
Hawaii - Well, erm, uh, it's Hawaii - lived there for five years - enough said.
Florida - It's where I'm from.
Cali-Mexi-fornia - Massive place and so much to do.  Also, it's great to share one state with two countries - yep, lived there too.
Utah - You've got to visit - great people and incredible scenery.
Alaska - We haven't totally fooked it up yet

Bottom 5:
Arkansas - Bill and Hillary (it was "Bill-ary" before - will it be "Hil-Billy" next)
Mississippi - Nasty ass place with nasty ass people.  It was a toss-up with Alabama but they're all related anyway.
New York - ...and only because NY State won't annex NYC and declare it a science experiment gone wrong.
West Virginia - Population keeps growing yet people are leaving in mass numbers
Missouri - Place has gone to shit with all the Meth and wanna-be gangsters and bangers.

Yes,  I have lived or spent time in each place other than Alaska.

Do I detect a little bias...
Ooooops!  I get it - you want to become one our states - well, you have to wait in line behind Puerto Rico and Guam

I don't really have a "worst list" of places.
The top ones for me.
  • Florida --- Beautiful Beaches, beautiful women, and of course home is where the heart is .
  • New York--- It has it all. Big city life, the falls, and mountains upstate. The city does not represent the entire state.
  • California --- Forward thinking. Sonoma Valley Wine.
  • Lousiana --- Lot's of culture. Somewhere you have to visit to understand.
  • Alaska --- The wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

I have visited nearly all 50 states.

Top 5:
Alaska - awesome wilderness
South Carolina - Nice beaches, friendly people
Ohio - Amusement parks, Rock and Roll HoF, Sports teams
Pennsylvania - camping, hunting, fishing
Hawaii - Self Explanatory

Bottom 5:
California - [stereotype] Stuck up, bratty, rich kids that think they are sweet because California is the "cool" place to be [/stereotype]
Florida - Would be great, except for that  99% of the population is over 60 years old
Indiana - Boring
Washington - Weather is cold, rainy and cloudy.  Not much to do
Mississippi - Hillbilly's 'R Us

Amen to that.

Persons 65 years old and over, percent, 2005       Florida 16.8%       National average 12.4%

I'm just saying..lol. In fact you probably see less seniors here because they all congregate and stay in their own communities (Built for them). It's almost like elderly segregation.

I have some videos I should throw up on youtube. We flew there, took a train around the state, took a heli ride to some glaciers, and then went on a ten day cruise. It was awesome.
