BF2S Forums Knife Badge, how in gods name do you get it

in my experiance the city maps work best (Kark,Sarqi and Mastuur) get a nice loaded server with plenty of team tickets left for both sides and enough time on a timer if there is one, dont wonder around with your knife pulled out all the time.

Like i said lots of people (64 full server works best) and lots of tickets + time will do the job as there isnt a rush to do so

I tried to do it "my way" on Wake Island or Mashtuur (my favourite maps) but frankly I always ran out of time.  The advice to go to a Karkand server which is half-full (game lasts longer) is the best I've received - that's where I FINALLY got the badge (veteran too, by that time).  Therefore:

1.  Karkand, half-full medium or large map for a long game.
2.  Play a fast-sprinting class:  Medic or Spec-Ops are my choices.
3.  Use your UAV!  It will even tell you which way someone is facing so you can surprise them.
4.  Save your sprint power so you can run after someone or else they may leave you behind.
5.  If you aren't half-way there when the tickets get to <50, your chances are slim.

It is VERY hard to ignore the fact that your K ratio gets hammered while you try for this badge since most opponents won't join you in a knife fight.  But don't believe those who tell you it was "easy" - it took me a few weeks to get it.

P.S.  If the MEC forces get trapped on their side of the river in Karkand, swim at the most southernly point of the river and there are a ramp and ladder usually unguarded.  This helps you get behind their lines and the vast majority of people never look behind them in a firefight...

P.P.S  Running around "with your knife out" just gets you killed.  You really need to get the drop on them or else just shoot.  After I got my badges my mission K was 16:12...

I got all 3 of my "weapon whoring" expert badges (knife, pistol and explosives) on Sharqi. 64 man size, only about a dozen players total - but the server was set to hold up to 54, just rather empty at the time. Nice long rounds, plenty of time to get it done. Also, no ticket bleeding.

I got basic on Karkand and Veteran on Wake.

This guy kept saying that I sucked at the game, that he was better than me.  So I pulled out my knife, and ran full force into the enemy.  Look at the outcome

It was great.  I stabbed a guy, medic comes over, revives him, stab them, another medic runs over, revives them, stab them, yet another medic....
