Tbh, I think we should do a X-Mas spin-off. Like all the actors standing next to each other singing 'We wish you a merry X-Mas, we wish you a merry X-Mas, we wish you a *que M1 tank rolling over the cast.

Maybe an F15 dropping a payload on them or even a vehicle drop squashing them

Movie work will commence at roughly 20:00GMT, don't need a huge number of people, probs like ten max maybe slightly more, the more the better. Also movie work will be at 19:30GMT tomorrow, that's the Songhua part so I will need a good solid number of guys to turn up for that one and to behave. Its possibly the last major part of the entire movie that we have to film and I don't want it to keep getting delayed because of similar events to that Saturday we tried to do it.

Zatar is done and I'm not editing anything. I'm making the sounds to the directors taste and mine.
The video aint gonna be viewed by only you two.Gathering opinions of the bits is critical.Especially from the actors themselves._NL_Lt.EngineerFox wrote:

Thats it. Ive had enough of this shit.
Despite all the hicups we get with filming, in the light of tking, cut scenes (ma LB damn it!!! ), 3hours on Songhua for almost nothing and all the childish bullshit....this is what pisses me off the most:
If the BF2s actors are saying these things, you can be damned sure outsiders will say the same damn thing. Get your head out of your ass, take it on board and work on it.
Garys done a fine job so far, and so have you, but one or two sounds, as mentioned, are not up to the standard we all expect, demand and will see for the final production.
Im gona take a stab in the dark here.
Going by the way you are talking, Im assuming you are stringing together the sounds into one long clip to match the movie (which explains about Gary saying about screwing up timings via Xfire). If thats the case, then I can understand it....but if that is the case, then why the hell aren't they all seperate, like all games have? That way, you have a selection of clips for gunfire, cannon fire, explosions, ricochets, etc etc and Gary can place them in the movie as he sees fit, at the correct times and can then adjust filming and movie clips as he sees fit. Flexible, easy, and time efficient.
If the seperate sounds option is the actual case to how its working, then Im sorry, but you are making a big ass stand of "I cant be assed" for absolutly fuck all time.
If all this criticism and comments are just getting ignored, then why the fuck are we bothering. Ill tell you what, I'll just say "yeah good job" when it could be the shittest piece of editing Ive seen in my entire life. How about that, would that please you?
For every trailer/preview thats been put up so far, comments have been made because its what we think, what we want to see and what we think would improve it because its perhaps been overlooked.
Hell, for the COD bit on Mashtuur there are a lot of gun sounds and explosions missing as Ive stated before. If they are seperate files for the explosions and gunfire...its easy to rectify.
Perhaps we are over-reacting to all of this, and maybe, but that is because us, the actors, want this movie to be the best damned movie ever. Hell, even on par with the Top Gear Parodies, The Pwned Life and The FuShe Chase movies. Passion, commitment and all the rest of it.
And as it stands at the moment, its certain aforementioned sounds that are letting it down. Badly.

However, Im agreeing with metal on the cannon fire and tank explosions, and that they also seem short and muffled. And the tank/apc engines sound more like a moped/quadbike to me. I dont see why the BF2 ingame sounds cant be used... in some instances they are better IMO (although I do love the MG sound you got there Fox ).

I really like it, but the sounds e.g. from the jets and tank just don't fit with the image I think, maybe it's because I'm used to the BF2 sounds with that image, but it sounds a bit awkward.
Quite frankly, I dont care if you are the only person making all of these sounds...some of them are just not good enough for the standard of the movie, the standard of the filming, the standard of the acting (in some cases ) and the shear amount of time we have put into this. This has been running since August unless Im mistaken. I dont want see all of the hard work, which has been contributed by no less than 30 BF2s, KNTL and other outside players, let down because you simply cannot be assed to take on comments/criticism because of your stupid fucking ego.RDMC wrote:

You are over-reacting.
I rather have 1 big fucking strip of footage that I can work with instead of 60 bits of not even a minute long, I have to shorten my soundtyracks from 5 minutes to a minute and if he comes with another bit and we can't find a suitable soundtrack, I ahve to spend 4 hours finding something that fits because I can't remember where the sound ended, otherwise I could just use the same bit.
4 hours of filming for you means 10 hours of audio work for me so im sorry if one or 2 sounds are of and I don't care, as if your gonna notice that in 45 minutes of movie, that the sound of a M1 tank rolling by, the sound starts 1/4 of a second too late or too early. When you start at 1900 hours your time, thats 20.00 my time, so add 2 hours of filming,1 hour of movie editing and you have 2 minutes of footage, double that by 3 for me to do the audio. I'm usually done at 01.00 in the morning, than I save the soundstrip, place it in WMM with the footage and see if it matches 9/10 nothing is perfect so I go back and edit, back to WMM, repeat, at the time, it's 02.00, sending it through X-fire to Gary, half an hour and that is if X-Fire isn't being an asshole and not letting me send files and I have to upload it to Filefront and Gary has to download it from there and convert it to .avi to upload it to Stage6, by now it's 03.00 in the morning and I have to get up at 5 to go to work.
So sorry if I don't care what people think. I listen to the reactions but I stand my ground.

But why? I cant see the sense of you putting together all of that work for a scene that Gary might want to go back and change. Whats wrong with supplying sounds that he can fit and choose as he likes across the scene/movie? Ok its slightly more work at Garys end...but it gives him complete control over what is essentially his movie should he decide to go back and edit scenes/camera angles and add in/remove clips and all the rest of it._NL_Lt.EngineerFox wrote:

I must be missing something because I could have sworn that that would be easier to do - thats how I would have wanted to do it. But each to their own
Anyway, I can understand you not wanting to change (I wouldnt either!!) - as I guessed correctly it seems. I just cant get my head round it.
No, we aren't going to notice that. But when you see an explosion on screen and dont hear anything, you start asking questions._NL_Lt.EngineerFox wrote:

Perhaps it would just be easier for Gary to take a stock sound (i.e. explosion in this case) and overlay it in Vegas for anything that might have been missed.
And rightly so...now we know how it works. So long as its taken on board for the final production, thats what counts._NL_Lt.EngineerFox wrote:

Not much left in terms of filming, in a sense, its done, but if I require additional parts in order to play stuff out better, such as parts of Songhua, or I cannot find a certain scene in the BR, we'll shall do them or re-do them to ease and speed up teh process .Snake wrote:

Right lads, brand new scene has been developed, virtually no combat, this is a simple cosmetic look for the movie, nevertheless it will require a lot of people. I have PM'd B.Schuss in the hope that Tampa may be put onto the unranked for this use.
My idea, developed from Snake's suggestion, places as many M1 Abrams tanks as we can possibly use (that could be 12 individual tanks, though not sure if this includes T-90's) along with several Humvees, some APC's, maybe a Linebacker and two BH.
Now in order to save the amount off peeps required these vehicles will not have gunners unless of course we suddenly broke the outright record. They could also be a possible F-18 fly over. The vehicles themselves will travel in a convoy. With Humvees up front then some APC's and some M1's, then alternating vehicles such as Humvees between M1's etc. BH's will fly over head nearby. The chance of fighting is very remote as this is a simple 'in between part' in which, probably for the first time, we see a large number of tanks and vehicles on Tampa in a BF2 movie. There is a slight possibility that one T-90 or two could get owned but is unlikely.
All I will need is a relatively good number of people in order to do this, the more we get, the better it can look.
Of course this is not final and set in concrete, I am still hoping that Tampa can be placed onto the unranked .

Well if you do plan on using the F-18, mind if I fly it? I never got to fly the F-15.M.O.A.B wrote:
