BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE DO SEEM TO FAIL AT READING WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT I WILL JUST BOLD IT SO YOU WON'T FORGET (AND TYPE IN CAPS). IT'S NOT JUST A SYSTEM SHOWOFF BUT TELL WHAT AVERAGE FRAMERATE ON WHAT SETTINGS AND RESOLUTION YOU GET WITH YOUR SYSTEM SETUP (YES INCLUDE THE SETUP BUT DO NOT ONLY SHOWOFF). THIS IS INTENDED TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE FIDDLE AROUND AND FIND THE RIGHT SETTINGS. READ MY OTHER THREAD TOO FOR SOME CONFIGS THAT BOOST YOUR FPS (BUT STILL LOOK DAMN NICE) YOU CAN FIND IT HERE
Topic title is pretty much self-explanatory. What are your system specs and what average fps do you get?
Also write down what settings you play on.
I myself play on a
Core 2 Duo E6850
4GB OCZ DDR2 800 MHz
A single 8800GTX Club 3D
And Gigabyte P35-DS4 mobo.. Well and all the other high-end crap you can imagine.
On a Samsung 206BW which has a native 1650x1080 resolution but I play the game in 1024x768.
Settings on all high, directx10, and 16XQAA. If I set the resolution to 1650x1080 I can play on high, post processing medium, and 2X AA.
In both cases it looks beautiful. (Btw I find the game awesome)
Post!

Running MP on medium settings 1280x1024, NO aa, Med shaders, Low shadows = off (high performance boost), Vista DX10 (vista sux, DX10 MP is fun but not many servers, go XP DX9 for the next 6months) getting about 60 frames in the open, just right for fraggin. Switching to High or customized medium settings (looks like high) pays a penalty when servers get 32 people in them, though for smaller servers its ok.

So far the best maps are shore and plantation. The other ones are a bit brutal... game needs a patch hands down.

1680 Resolution
All medium apart from lighting and water which is set to high.
Im on dx10 which takes a fair bit of power i think.
Also vista is using a fair bit of my power so it would probably run better on windows xp.

Dell Dimension 9150 BTX (or CTX can't remember, in any case it has standard external CPU cooling)

P4 630 64bit 3.0Ghz
2GB Ram (Dual Channel: 2x1024mb)
Ati Radeon x600 256mb passive cooling
XP SP2 Home
Standard broadband cable internet connection, not very fast, but cheap and no data-limit or whatever.

I play BF2 at everything on highest, 1024x768 (72Hz I think) and no AA, since it's pretty pointless (relatively little improvement, much more CPU usage) at any resolution above 800x600.

New GPU has my priority, but I'm not a (semi-)professional gamer so I'm not willing to pay more than 99 euro's for any individual component.

Edit: not many people here seem to run on dual- or quadcores

Edit 2: lol, didn't notice it was about Crysis, got linked her by the mainpage

My god, you can't even play the game decently, even with that monster system. Ffs, you should be able to have 8x AA with everything on very high and get 90fps constant.

Stupid Crysis.

That's such a ridiculous attitude to take. On those settings Crysis looks way better than any other game out there. The fact that there is scope for it to run on higher settings on future systems is a GOOD thing. Something a lot of complete mugs on this site seem to have forgotten. It is also something Crytek are getting a bit of a reputation for and since it significantly extents the lifespan of a game, it is a GOOD thing.

Remember FarCry? What system could run FarCry on highest settings when it was launched? That was back when nVidia were still slogging along with the disastrous FX series cards - yet with the SM3 and HDR patches applied you need around a 7800GT to play it at decent framerates.

FarCry was a brilliant game and the high hardware requirements mean it still looks fairly good even today - Crysis is much the same. Which I am very glad of.
