Like the article says, there have been robots there for quite a while. Not ^^^ cyborg robots, but mine-clearing, bomb-searching, even some reconnaissance is done with the help of robots.

"Going crazy" is alluding to the idea that the robot could start spraying everywhere and everyone in sight, hence the need for a "kill switch". But wouldn't be turning it on to shoot also be classified as a "kill switch" too?

going crazy probably means a runaway gun. which happens when the weapon fires the remainder of its rounds without the operator able to stop it. rare, but it happens.

Anyone read anything about the next gen UAV coming out.. Makes this SWORD look like a little kid with a sucker on a school playground.
I have a buddy that works on the UAV for the Air Force and what he can tell me is the AI has been in place in some of the UAV for some time now, with no one controlling them they pick there targets and choose there best way to processed.
