if this is your desktop, then you should be fine.  i've heard weird things about dell's though about how certain items cannot be upgraded.  maybe someone else knows.  for instance my wifes old p4 dell i plan on using for a server has it's bios locked.

I don't see it wouldn't, I think most PSUs are made in a standard size.

You don't need a 700W PSU or a state-of-the-art video adapter in a Pentium 4 rig. If your Dimension 4700 follows Dell's specs (albeit from the non-Dell site I looked it up on), that video card is an X300, which utilizes an AGP slot. Like PCI video before it, AGP is becoming scarce and overpriced. Also, Dell rigs, especially the older ones, are a nightmare to work with and upgrade. The last old Dell I touched had its AGP slot shaved clean off the motherboard, despite the fact that the model itself was able for it.

You need a new(er) machine with a PCI-Express x16 slot for your video card.

PC Power and Cooling makes PSUs specifically for Dell upgrades.  This is the one they list for your particular model:

They are a very well known for having extremely high quality.

Not for GTS sli. 600W would probably do you just fine.
