NateWiese did a better job with the cartoon sigs imo. You don't blend the background color with the render as well as he does.

When i get better with the cartoon type things i'm sure i'll match him...

Not hard really, just use the eyedropper to snag a color from the render (like a shirt color) then make a new layer over the background and fill it with that color (paintbucket). Then use a blending option on that layer like "Hue" or "Color" to make the background match up.

NateW: my sigs worse than yours; +191|6348

simple process.

1) open render
2) new layer
3) with eyedropper select the most prominent color from the cartoon render
4) select a bg color, usually lighter, or darker.
5) use gradient tool
6) new layer
7) select abstract render, place this layer between bg layer (gradient) and render. use overlay, opacity, or fill, for desired look.
8) new layer
9) use cartoons font
10) new layer
11) Black border. (I like to change the pxl amount depending on the render. For a bolder render, bolder border. etc. etc.)

Easy to mass produce these sigs, and simple looking.
