Hey im trying to fix my friends computer and nothing i had in mind has worked.

Hes got a Dell Inspiron 6000
When booting into regular Windows XP Pro, at the windows loading screen (Says: "Windows is starting up...") it will get stuck. It will then take about literaly 8 minutes before i recieve a blue screen that flashes really fast, i believe its the physical memory dump screen, before the computer restarts and does the same thing over again.

I can get into safe mode and tried disabling everything from MSconfig incase it was software related.

This happened once before, and i reformatted his computer and it went away, untill now.

I cant really think of anything else to try, there are so many different problems on Google but none are like this (None specificaly talk about the dump on STARTUP)

What should i do now?

Extra Notes: He does have a problem with his power cord/power supply because unless you put A LOT of pressure on the power cord it will flicker on and off between battery and cord.

Get the debugging tool: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/ … fault.mspx
(extra help: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/librar … umpchk_exe)

Examine the dump file and it will tell you where its failing and what might be causing it.

You disabled everything from MSConfig?! That might be causing you a few problems...

Just go for a fresh reinstall. And if there is anything important on it, pop out the HDD and hook it up to another computer and set it to slave so that you can access the data off it.
