How do you get a joystick to work in BF2?  I have a USB Logitech Attack 3.  I read somewhere about editing a file and tweaking it, but does anyone know a simpler way?  If I do have to edit code, does anyone have it that they can paste here and I can just copy and paste it into the appropriate file. Thanks.

Just go to the Controls section in the Options and set it there.  For example, if you want to use a trigger for firing the gun, click the blank box next to "primary fire" and pull the trigger.  It'll register so every time you pull the trigger it will fire.

there is no way
the way to do it best is to calibrate it in single player mode so you wont be getting killed in multiplayer

I got all the buttons to work fine, my problem is that the stick doesn't work.  Forward, back, left, right doesn't work.  I get into a helicopter and i can shoot and stuff but the stick or the side button I use to control the speed doesn't work.

If you have throttle control on your stick, just move it forward all the way from one side to another while selecting the "accelerate" control, it will automatically set up the opposite thing; same goes for pitch, roll and yaw(steer).

Before even touching BF2 jet controls you should calibrate it with Windows.
