Windows media player version 11 seems to be running very slow for me. Videos come out of sync and music can sound fragmented.

Its only recently started behaving like this.

Here are my system specs.

e6600 c2d cpu
8800gts 640mb gpu
2gb 6400 ram
P5N32-E motherboard.

I have performed a full system virus scan and I ran Ad-Aware scanning software.
I reverted my Windows media player back to whatever version was on the install disk and the updated back to version 11.

When I have just WMP running (No other applications) CPU usage seems to shoot up really high. I'm not sure how much CPU usage WMP needs but its shooting up to 80%. (seems kinda high to me)

Anyone know why its doing this.

Just downloaded Winamp and the its running nice and smooth. No High CPU usage.

I still wanna fix WMP though as I prefer some of its features too Winamps.

Has this problem happened for a while now? Can you do a system restore? Also, you might want to just try downloading WMP11 again.

He said his music is fragmented, too. So it looks like it is all media. (His first line in is original post)

Tried to re-download twice. Once through windows update and the 2nd by downloading the file.

Is there a way to completely remove WMP. The only option I see is one to rollback to a previous version.

Add/Remove Programs --> WMP???

Just uninstall, if it's doing what you say try a previous version. Other than that re-install.

edit: got any plug-ins runnin?

All fixed. One fecking file that wasn't compatible was preventing my library from updating properly. Karma for all. Zero!.s getting rich of me.
