i want a new graphics-card since i only got nvidia 5200. what about a 6800 i have heard that its good it delivers very solid and nice graphics and is it right that is only costs about 200-300 hundred dollars. do you guys have any ideas.
go to pcgamer.com under the product finder and find the best price for any electronics
Assuming your from america(or costa rica), check out www.newegg.com. Good stuff for a great price it seems. Also check out the combos for extra money saving. Like this one example...
eVGA 7800gt with a free eVGA sli-mobo and its only 379$. Not too pricey i say.

I got my GeForce 6800 from Newegg for $190.
I was using a Nvidia GeForce 5200 Ultra, the fan went out, the card burned out. Got my new 6800, pumped the graphics to high and was in complete awe. It makes me laugh when my friends come over for a LAN party and see my graphics. "You mean there are actually bricks in that wall?!??!" "check out those shadows under the roof!!!"
lol

OFF TOPIC...but anyways...
You probably have an AGP slot, not a PCI-E. If so, your upgrade options are limited to the 6 series or below. I would recommend sticking with Nvidia because of the better price and performance. I have an Apollo GeForce 6800 128Mb AGP card, which I like a lot and which cost me $130 bucks. You have the added benefit with the GeForce 6800 to unlock the extra pixel pipelines and vertex shaders to get extra performance without paying for a GT.
However, you may want to invest in a motherboard that includes PCI-E, since you are upgrading your graphics card anyway. Graphics cards aren't getting produced in AGP anymore. If you do decide to upgrade, don't be too stingy and get the lowest costing stuff, but get something decent. Make sure you do research and post on a tech forum like afterdawn or ocforums to get advice. Make sure that anything you are still using is compatible with your new motherboard, too.

It all really depends on how much money you are willing to spend and how good or bad the other components of your PC are...if you could post your stats here I'd help you...
The best card you cant get is the ATI X850XT Platinum Edition for AGP.
^qft
Get an nVidia GeForce 7800 GT OC, and while your at it, get 3 Gigs of RAM like me
i think he has a AGP slot. cause idont remember seeing a 5200 PCIE
I was running a Rosewill 6600GT 128, but if flaked out after 3 months. Sent back to Newegg to get replacement...they suggested the ASUS 6600GT...so that's what I'm goin for, currently using a BFG 6600GT til my ASUS comes in. Anyways, the 6600GT's are really nice if you don't wanna spend over 200 in my opinion.
i have got-
3 ghz
512 mb ram can still get updated a few times
System Model: D848PMB_

So its one of those systems you got from parents for a present eh? Just like mine....You dont have a crap of a idea whats inside that box but still you wanna make it better...
If its not a really pricey/new comp, its almost 100% its agp(5200 also) so you cant get the best cards anyway. gf 6600 should do the job just fine, its under 200$ and can be bought to an agp slot. Atleast it would kick the crap out of my gfx(hint hint:radeon 9600).
