BF1942 ftw, on the computer anyway
For a console though, that would have to be Goldeneye 007 for the N64
Descent
Counterstrike, I think the patch was at 1.0 or something back in 2000 ish. It was the patch that let you drag all the weapons back to your base before the round started.

goldeneye ftw
The very first that would indeed be Duck Hunt since that surely is a FPS...
But like most, first Wolfenstein 3D (but that didn't really last long, got sick of the graphics) followed by DooM, which I played over and over and over again. I can still hear the effects of several monsters and opening doors when I think of the game.

CHEX QUEST. Nothing like blasting flemoids with your zorcher in the Doom engine.

I didn't think of that. Operation Wolf too.

Americas Army I believe.
Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault.

Quake for PC when I was 5. Goldeneye for the N64 two years after it's release for consoles.
First online was BF2 aside for some brief messing about on a 56kbps connection on HL and CoD. Which failed miserably thanks to pings and lag.
To anybody who says violence and temper are affected by playing video games for a young age I have news for you, it's bullshit. Only effect it had on me was a desensitivity to violence, but considering movies now days I'm not sure it was the games that did it. I'm also quite fit. Parents should stop assigning blame and take responsibility.

Sopwith!
It was a great game.
I also remember Canyon, on the BBC
But I don't remember Wingnuts - but then I don't play Mac games.

I was 16 when my parents bought my first pc, a 486 dx2. "For school" First and only software installed during the first 2 weeks : Doom2
Some years later, i turned into a real Quake-nut. Lots of hours spent on playing quakeworld and making maps.
Duke Nukem 3D also has this special place in my memory ( made a null-modem cable just to be able to play 2-player deathmatch )
