I had an Atari in 1979, the only shooting i could do was place a white cross, on a moving white box, that appeared from one side of the screen and moved quickly to the other side....
Now look what games are like, personally im looking forward to at least another 25 years of gaming.
Best thing about being an older gamer, you can afford the better systems
my current pc has broken down, think its the hard drive
luckily my grandpa recently bought me a notebook (which has better performance than my pc)
why would you bring back this piece of garbage thread

I'm 19 and I work as a network administrator. I am a BF2 addict . My dreams are even filled with past battles.
ah well not as bad as the 6 months when I had no job and did nothing but play CS 1.5 - was much more of an addict then.

I'm 30, and just like with any sport, our reflexes start to slip but you play smarter and smarter.
As for those who think games are for kids... IMO people who say "GAWD you have too much time on your hands" about ANYTHING that gives someone else joy in their lives are insecure judgemental f*cks. I don't like knitting, horseback riding, anime or watching Friends but if that's your thing then go for it, I'm not gonna judge. I guess we should all spend all our freetime doing Important, Productive Creative Stuff, but I'm not hardcore enough to do that and I doubt most people are. We all piss our time away doing something. I'll play games. I'll probably be playing them when I'm 70. Over the next 10 years I think gaming/interactive entertainment/whatever will become a central part of mainstream culture and it won't have this nerd stigma that the Western world places on it.

To finish this quote of those older generation that you think should get a life. if it was not for the guys playing the commodore 64 and Atari you would not get the games you play today, How old do you think the guys are who created the games of today, no little 15 year old kid who has not reached puberty yet could ever think up something so complex.DarkStar wrote:
The fact is that there is now a whole generation of gamers right now that are older than 19. People who grew up on Atari are in their late 20's and into their 30's now. I happen to be 28 and game almost everyday. I also have a college degree, married, and own a house. People like Sgt.Gene like to take the stereotypical video game nerd and apply it to everyone beyond a given age and that's 100% wrong.
Yikes, why is this topic still going. It was started, what, back in December.
But some of the best people I have met, online that is, are over 19.

My .02 cents........At 33 yrs, I am the envy of all you little kids. To be able to afford the best of the best gaming rig and buy all the new games without asking mommy for permission is a beautiful thing.
Who you calling kid dude? Remember you are talking to gamers on an internet forum. Most of us are geeks. I'm 19 but I have a salary of over 40k and have 0 dependables. Possibly it is me in the better financial position.FrowG wrote:
