Lol. This topic has gone off the rails - bigtime.

No matter what you think of Michael Moore, the left, the right, up or down you should still be open to information.  Have a brain and form your own opinions but don't discount someone just because.  Seriously, if you watch something and immediately think it's 100% true or 100% false you have problems.  Everything has bias, everything.  So you watch, read, hear and then formulate conclusions based on all the other evidence you have.

I live in Canada and I know for a fact that some of what Moore talks about as good health care in Canada is BS.  We WAIT for doctors... like hours.  Moore saying that you can get a doctor in 15 minutes is BS all the way.  Well, ok, maybe in a small town somewhere near Yellowknife but I doubt it.

Truth is, going in the ER, unless you are really fucked up, is a sit and wait game.  But it's triage as well so you may be low priority. I suffer (chronically) with severe migraines.  Since I was 12 I've been getting migraines so bad that the pain would make me puke.  I've sat with brutal migraines for hours in brightly lit waiting rooms with buzzers and announcements going off only to finally see a doctor after the migraine attack had passed.  Does it suck?  Yes.  Would I rather pay 15,000 to get in fast?  No fucking way!

I love my Tommy Douglas institution of public health care for everyone and think the US could learn a lot from it.

As an aside, to prove (or help prove) the problem with US medicare is the amount of drug ads I see on US TV these days.  10x the amount only five years ago I'd guess.  It's all about the $$$, and the elite will do whatever they can to get $$$, even if it means killing you legally.

We have to wait for hours at the ER too.  Privatized healthcare isn't any better when it comes to the ER than socialized medicine.  Either way, a lot of people go to the ER -- a lot more than the service is really designed to handle.  Some people are fucking hypochondriacs.

In the ER, they must see you within 15 mins to make sure you don't die, but other then that, long waiting times.

I don't get Fox news but I would watch just to see the far right side of things.  Then I'd switch to CNN, MSNBC, BBC World News, and then finally CBC to get the whole story.  Information is power and making any decisions based on one single "side" is utterly moronic.  For those that do, well... the life lesson usually comes shortly there-after.

The last time I tried he kept trying to have the guys mic cut off and told him repeatedly to shut up.  There's a difference between not having an open mind and just flat out watching a horrible journalist such as Billy.

Let's put aside the farting chat for a while.  Unfortunately, most media, not just American, don't care about telling the news like they are, just plain news.  They have the need to distort the reality because they have their own agendas.  A show that has the news word in its name, should give news, and nothing else.  A news show where the anchors give their opinions all the time is not a news show, and it will always be biased.

As to the first sentence, its called TV, you know that.  It is all about ratings.  I watch Keith O and he goes out of his way to bash O'Rly.....not great journalism either.

As to the second sentence, people feel the same way about Moore and the way he presents facts.  So maybe they watched one of his movies and decide not to watch one again because they know what they will get.  That is the same way you feel about Billy boy.

Good Job.

@usmarine:

Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann are not comparable.  At least Keith waits until the last 5 minutes of his show to bash O'Reilly instead of being like Bill-O and consistently spewing "spin" in his "no-spin" zone and acting like a obnoxious child throwing a temper tantrum.

He used to wait until the last 5, but it has been getting more and more obvious.  He is doing it for ratings, just like Orly.

I´m Scandinavian myself, but I have spent a lot of time in the US and I also went to an American school in Pakistan when I was a kid. I´ve always liked Americans and think you´re country is really cool. However for the last 10 years I´ve been really worried about the way U.S.A has been run by the government. Democracy has been turned into hipocracy and the medias are not longer the peoples voice towards the leaders. Instead it´s being used as a way to spread propaganda of different forms. This also is affecting the rest of the world, where you can see other countries following the same path. I´m glad that there is someone like Michael Moore to ask the critical questions. The Iraq war was all wrong from the beginning, and anybody who was read a tiny bit of history realised how the war was gonna end up, with civil war! It´s nothing new. When the facts where presented; there were no weapons of mass destruction, I can´t understand how the Bush administration could be re-elected. It´s pretty crazy that winning the US election is really about raising most money for advertising. But I guess we´re gonna get there to some day unfortunately....

When it comes to health, I believe that the solidaric system we use in most European countries is the best way to go. Beggars on the streets with nasty diseases affects everyone. So I´ll gladly pay money for others, although I´ve never been sick. Someday it´s probably gonna be me laying with some cancer or whatever. Then I´ll be glad that there are others who will pay my medical bill.
