Ok, I'm a noob with this internat letter shit, so bare with me.

I've had a hotmail account for about 4 years now, and it sucks. It used to work for just the basic sending/recieving e-mails, but now it is just spammed down by tons of junk mails.

So I want to start over with a new client. So... What's best?

I also have always wanted to use Microsoft Outlook, but I've never got it to work... Could use some help here as well.

the main thing is u need an e-mail addy to start with
weather it be hotmail or your own prive one (like me ) or one ur ISP gives you

Sounds like gmail is the way to go? (firefox fails, so no T-bird for me...)

so I set up gmail, and then set gmail up with outlook? And I have outlook '07 btw...

Yeah, thats my setup.

You can active your e-mail account with "msn live", so you can use your g-mail account on msn- which many people don't know

Steps on setting up outlook (2003- 2007 is similar) can be found here

Edit- My settings are actually different to that... and mine definately work

If i were you i would use a Gmail account in combination with Outlook 07.

Gmail wins becuase,
It has loadsa storage,
Little / no spam,
(Ive) never had any down time with it,
Can be easily set up,
Intergrates with other Google services.

Ive got a Hotmail (Live) account and im kinda forced to use it as its my main address and i cant be arsed to switch - otherwise id be straight to gmail.

Now, for the email client.

Ive tried, Outlook Express, Outlook 03, 07, Thunderbird and Dreamail.

Outlook Express works and its good as a basic send / receive service. But it does lack some advanced features.
Outlook 03, 07 is fully featured and works well. Its easy to use and has decent support online.
Thunderbird is comparable to Outlook Express - it works, but its kinda basic. Though the plugins avaliable are excellent.
I randomly saw Dreamail on Neowin one day and gave it a go. Its pretty looking and has some decent features, but it not really a credible alternative.

Now, will you be using single or multiple email accounts?

Have a look at this guide from Gmail about how to set it up with Outlook 03 (it will be almost identical to 07)

yahoo is the worst email i have ever used

i had a email address i used for everything and one day i sign in to check it and yahoo erased it by mistake and wouldn't give it back they told me to make a new one.

So i turned to Gmail. its the best email i have ever used it has nice features.
