Is it possible to play BF2 on an FX5200 videocard? I have a second PC in my room and I am trying to make it meet the minimum system requirements at the cheapest I can. Its a Dell with the FX5200 already in it, so if it is possible, I dont want to buy another video card. Would I be able to install BF2 with the FX5200?
Yes you can instal it, no it will not run smooth on 800x600 60Hz, Low, AA of, visibility 90%
I'm sure it's possible to install it and play, but expect all lows settings at less than 35 fps.
I do but don't expect much
I play it with that card . And yes it is hell but I still can kill people with my favorite kit: Sniper.
I used to play with it then I got a new computer and upgraded to the 7900GT
that card is ok....i guess
Love the Card, best value for the money ive ever seen, thing lasted me 5 years, when i got it it was midrange, now its low range and still pumping out the graphics. You can run it on all low easily, I ran on 100% view distance and medium textures, for you fps obsessive people out yeah this ran at a low fps, but it ran smooth enough for me for my 300 hours on BF2 and 150+(upgrading to a 7600GT for2142) so it will work, and shouldn't let you down, mine hasnt. Best card ever
damn right, i still have mine going strong in my spare pc downstairs its my "old faithfull"r2zoo wrote:

How dare you sell it short! It can do so much more! Who needs the best frame rates ever? Long live the 5200claor wrote:

OMG, BF2 is so overrated, u can run it on a toaster...
It is possible. I've played BF2 on an FX5500 which is worse, but the graphics were pretty crap!
Served me well for a year!
I used to have (I passed it on to my mom, who desperately needed an upgrade from her old Pentium 1) a
P4 "northwood" 3.2 GHz
fx 5200
1 GB DDR-400
Ran BF2 all low, 100% view, 800x600 @ 30-35FPS

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I also had the 5200. BF2 would let me play singleplayer but it wouldn't let me play online
