Actually, after some googling, it appears the SR-71 does have an upward ejection seat. Mach 3 speeds make ejecting period a big no lol.

there are ejection systems for helicopters (i know of none that have been implemented) they are pretty complex and reduce the usefulness of the chopper because the blades are jettison able and cannot support as much weight as fixed blades
