Whenever I try to open cs:s, it says: "This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time." Has this happened to you before? What's wrong?
Worked fine earlier for me. Try deleting the clientregistry.blob file (or whatever it's named) and try again. That should fix it.

Thanks for that link but the link says that Steam is unavailable. My Steam is saying that Counter-Strike Source is unavailable for me. I think I've had this problem before, I just waited a while and it worked again. Well, I'll see what happens and thanks for the feedback!

Are you using Vista? This was the straw that broke the camel's back when no matter what the hell I did, none of my games would work.
I had this problem both for CSS and the new mod Insurgency after I installed it (but not HL2); I'm using Norton 360, but after i turned auto-protect off for 15 minutes they both would start up fine.

Just turned off firewall for it. Hasn't worked yet, but i will wait.

All right, I reinstalled and it did not work. I then got some help from some of my friends that play cs:s and I disabled some stupid Norton (which is stupid) stuff and now cs:s works!!!
mmmm yer same problem has been happening for me in the last 2 days. whenever the game is on the verge of loading, that message ("This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time.") comes up, and what's more, a pop-up in the bottom right corner from norton comes up, saying a trojan has been blocked. happens every time. i dunno whats wrong. ive scanned my computer and theres no viruses. the folder it says its coming from doesnt even exist! help plz????

Norton, lol 'tis a RAM monster that. Seriously once your subscription or whatever expires, ditch it immediately and get something more lightweight like AVG or Avast.
can anyone help me as to actually how i disable the norton firewall? telling me that norton is a ram-eating son-of-a-bitch doesnnt do much....
