I received a Dell xps m1210 back when they had that back to school promotion instant win game.  Since I won it, I couldn't configure any of the options so I got stuck with the integrated graphics Intel 950 chipset.  I know that's not listed as meeting the minimum requirements of bf2, but it would be really nice to be able to just take the laptop to someone's house to play instead of lugging my desktop around.  Is there any possible way someone knows of getting it to run on even the lowest settings?
Thanks

Also is:
Intel Core 2 duo at 1.83 ghz
1 gb of ram
3.1 on the windows experience index

All I can suggest is to install the game and give it a try.  You may have already tried with no success and in that case, I don't know.  Good Luck!

Thanks...yah, I just had installed to try.  It flashes the battlefield 2 game when you first open it, but then nothing happens except it staying on the desktop.

Not sure about all laptops, but you can upgrade the graphics toa certain point, its just expensive.  I ran BF2 on all low on my desktops integrated graphics, it worked, just would show all the classes and would suffer fro massive lag.  Its not really worth it, perhaps invest in a lan case for your desktop, make it easier to carry around.

contact dell and see if you can get it "refurbished" with a better graphics card or hunt around your local pc shops to see if any of them can put one in without voiding the warrenty, though do you actually get a warranty if its given to you as you didn't legally buy it?

Dude, your fucked. You cant play BF2 with Integrated graphics due to the fact that BF2 requires hardware T&L, and that is something
that can only come from a GPU off a video card. Add all the RAM u want, get the fastest most powerful CPU and it still wont mean anything.
(Not to mention its a Dell, and Dell PCs and laptops suck arse anyway.)

Like the above poster said, there isn't much you can do with an integrated graphics card.  Most EA games don't support Intel and you can't replace the card.

Yes. Even with a free prize you get the manufacturers warranty.
