I'm starting to get to the point where I cannot carry everything I need to keep. Where to you safely stash items?

You can buy a house, or leave them in the cloud ruler temple or arena blood works (just drop them on the ground and they won't go anywhere). I still have stuff in those two locations from my first couple of hours of game play. Just remember where you put your stuff.
I bought several houses and in one (the house you clean the ghosts out of) has plenty of storage. I put everything in that house and I had a ton of stuff after awhile.

Most of it goes in my Imperial City house. My better stuff goes on display in my Skingrad and Chorrol houses.

Frostcrag spire. I've got so much stuff stuck in one chest it takes the game +-10 second to open it
All my phat lewt goes on display in my Skingrad house. The rest (My crappy armour/potions/etc) gets autosorted into containers in my modded house. You just activate it, and then it takes all the, say, nightshade, and puts it in a barrel labeled nightshade. Its pretty cool actually.

You can do a mission for the count of chorrol? Leyawin? that gives you a free house at the end of it - i kept most of my stuff there

Quite offten I make feather potions with a 202 strength. Would be better if I could find the other two master alchemy items I need

I don't even remember where I found them all. alchemy is ftw though, with the shivering isles ingredients you can easily make 3x damage + 1x negative effect potions which do massive damage if used in a sneak attackdaffytag wrote:

Between my four houses, and it could actually be centralized to any one house if you'd like. I don't think there is a limit to how much stuff you can store in a chest, and the chests that you get for houses never reset, so that's your best bet. The imperial city house is a dump, but it can offer storage for cheap.

Everything goes into my Skingrad house. Separate cases for weapons, armour, ingredients etc etc.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
when you have done the.. umm... the guild where you get the black horse from... attack the crap out of it until it is unconcious (you cant kill it) and then go to "Use" is and you can stash stuff inside your horse! haha! try it.. it workss!

All Alchemy stuff goes into my All-in-one Basement Alchemy Cave. The more useless stuff goes in the first few barrels near the Basement's entry, and I keep all my display stuff in my Skingrad home.

Sorted in the Anvil house with different draws, cupboards etc for diff things.

I'll post a pic later of the crossed Steel Claymores I have set up in my Skingrad home. The meshes on them are wide, so you can't lay them flat on each other, but I got them near perfect.

But here you can tell how much higher the top one sits above the bottom one. It took a few minutes of nudging to get it that close:
