You know what, topal, you wanna believe what you wanna believe, go ahead, I'm not stopping you.
Personally, I'll stick with being open-mindedly skeptical.

Don't worry. It doesn't bother me.Liberal-Sl@yer wrote:

And, I never called him an idiot (you misunderstand the general nature of the word play comment). And "put up shut up" is call to step up... not to step down. But there is no real way he can step up. The "Global Cooling Alarm in 70's" thing is a myth - a distortion of recent invention.
And lastly, there is nothing reasonable about this specific skeptic position; of which neither of you are its originators.

On this occasion you win on two grounds - 1. your persistence and 2. my not wanting to be bothered with arguing about it now.topal63 wrote:

I loose then actually... becuase there is no such thing as an "internet debate" to be won - in my mind. There is only the exchange of information (IMO).Scorpion0x17 wrote:

Its just typical summer weather where I am, few days of heat and sun, followed by a week of rain, rinse and repeat.

We never used coal, we have always used renewable sources, we started off with dams in the early 20th century, before that we just lived in houses of turf with candlesScorpion0x17 wrote:
True enough, but unlike most of the rest of the world, Iceland has more than enough Hydroelectric and, particularly, Geothermal heat for all their energy needs.Bertster7 wrote:
Wow! Didn't Iceland used to be all coal powered, that's a great switcharound. The rest of the world could learn a lot of lessons.PBAsydney wrote:
All electricity and house warming on Iceland is made by Hydroelectricity and Geothermal heat.
Wind and tidal power is the best bet for most of the developed world. And anywhere at all equatorial should invest in solar power. But, unlike in Iceland, for the majority of the world, switching from non-renewable to renewable power sources, without going down the nuclear route (which a) ain't green and b) ain't truly renewable), isn't going to be anywhere near as easy as it has been for Iceland.
Sucks however that 30% of our clean renewable power is used so aluminum factories can pollute more because of cheaper electricity.....

Where the fuck do you get the idea that the changes are already here? We may be seeing the BEGINNINGS of change, but most scientists agree that on a local level we won't see much - yet.

The Global Cooling saga of the 70s was because of all the SOs and other global dimmers, as I've explained for the 5th time. It seems some people refuse to get into their heads this idea.
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

2. I am merely explaining as others have what the weather is currently like.
3. Take some diazapam.
well, i'm not sure how true this is, but somewhere i heard or read (i forget) that i think it was the south antarctic ocean was saturated with carbon dioxide. This being one of the green house gases, i would say its true that yes global warming is occuring
horse.
