Purple Heart for Special Forces

This is somewhat embarrasing, but I thought I might mention it.

I was having a shocker on the Iron Gator. Got 5 kills, and on my 25th death, a purple heart. Looks like there's a purple heart for SF.

However, this never ended up showing on my stats (except for the 25 deaths, of course).

So either EA have a bug where SF Purple Hearts are handed out accidentally, or a bug where if they are handed out, they dont get recorded.

Either way, a big red diagonal font with "You Suck!", flashing on the screen would probably be better. Or maybe the skin for your character wears a clown suit for the remainder of the round, complete with big red shoes, rainbow wig and all weapons look like balloon animals.

Oh, and shouldnt the combat rating for the purple heart be "Abismal"?

I'm not really paranoid about it.. i thought i'd just share the experience of getting a purple heart for SF, something thats rather undocumented.

I was a little disappointed that it didnt show up, actually. if you see my stats, you'll see that the awards and stuff are are what drive me (damn that elusive basic knife). So i'd like to see the extra purple heart, and then look at the kill streak of 34 and the death streak of 19, and scratch my head, cluck my tongue and stroke my beard, etc.

Next awards to aim for.. distinguished ribbony thing and vet commander. (always thinking about the basic knife, though).

you just got the normal purple heart and i read somewhere no matter how many you get it still only says you got 1 in your stats.

Hey, I received my air defense ribbon while COMMANDING in a SF map. Your armor points are tracked no matter what version game you play as do the vehicle and repair points. etc. Just because you are in SF does not mean that your actions are not rated for the entire game package.

You can get every badge (except the combat badges, cause there are the other ones in sf) and ribbon in SF too! It doesnt matter if it is "vanilla" or SF! And the purple heart is recorded only once... doesnt matta if SF or vanilla .

ive got most of my ribbons and combat badges commanding . to some that might be the easy way , but since ive started commanding my deaths have gone down heaps . on ghost town im 15 wins to 1 loss as commander . i just get decorated doing it

I knifed 15 people on SF and didn't get my basic knife. The same with basic pistol, I don't remember how many people I killed but it was over the requisite. I'm thinking it's too easy at night and you can't get them.

reminds me of Jailbreak for UT2k4, where if it detects you're cheating, you turn into a teargassed colorful llama. Then the whole game STOPS and it becomes everyman against you, in HUNT THE LLAMA!!!

You can't get sf awards in vanilla, but you can get any bf2 vanilla award in SF. (excluding airplace one obviously.)

Also if i'm not mistaken if you get a ribbon such as the helo ribbon in sf it will show in both Sf and Vanilla where as if you get it in Vanilla it will onyl show for vanilla awards.

As to the class badges you can get the vanilla badges in sf. For instance if you have both basics assaults (sf and norm.) if your playing in sf and you meet the presequite 20 kill you will get the norm vet assault and in two more kills you will not get the vet assault specialist. As far as i know it's impossible to get two of the same class basic/vet.expert badges in the same round becuase the vanilla one has to be recorded on your stats before you can get the specialist badge.

though you could get tem in rounds back to back.

Nononono, you make guns out of your balloon and pretend to shoot people with them, silly.

Acutally, sometimes I feel as though my gun was replaced by a pea shooter, but that is something else entirely.
