No. Been sailing with them before a few times. Had a few mates who were with them for around 3 years. I'm not a fan of the sea really, and sailing doesn't give me kicks. Grew up near a RAAF base but I'm not a huge fan of flight. Call me crazy but if an airliner doesn't have four engines I always get a little nervy flying in them. Given the opportunity I would have joined the Army Cadets. Probably stuck with them for quite some time too. Never did get those opportunities though. I'm looking at joining the Army for a few years. Prefer something in recon, infantry grunt work or intel analysis.

Heres what really happened:
The RAN crew were hooning round in their boats (retrofitted with Commodore engines) after having a few and decided to go get pissed on the cargo boat. After a few boxes of VB and XXXX were gone, the Iranians came alongside and said the Aussies had to leave Iranian waters. The Aussies knew the real motivation was "we can't get pissed or eat pork, lets spoil their fun" and started throwing bottles at the Iranians while telling them to fuck off. After that was done they finished off the last of the beer and meat, and went back to base.

Just from my own experience....
We were doing some training at Ft. Lewis, Washington State. Home of the 1st Special Forces I believe. So we did an exercise with them. We were in the defense, and the spec forces were on the offense. We set so many damn booby traps that there was only two ways to exit the defensive line....and that was not easy. The goal for the spec ops was to take our food and water.
Guess what? They got it all. We even knew what night they were going to come get it, they told us FFS. That is how bad ass those dudes are.
So, you are trying to tell me a basic Aussie grunt is as well trained as that?
