Is there anyway I can make my computer shut down at a certain time..

I'm downloading a Video (not not porn, The New "Stuntmans Legend" video, 1.4 gigs) and I want to go to sleep, but I don't want my computer on all night because its loud and emits light, so is there anyway I can make it turn off after I'm done downloading, or at a certain time?

In Run

Code:

shutdown -s 3600
Where 3600 = time in seconds

3600 = 1 hr

start --> run...

"shutdown -s -f -t 3600" makes your pc shutdown in one hour for example. "-s" stands for Shutdown, "-f" stands for shutting all running programs before shutting down and "-t" stands for the time in combination with the number typed in after it. the number is the time remaining in SECONDS.

What program are you using?

Because nothing sucks more than an auto-shutdown when the file hasn't quite finished downloading..

Should have probably corrected that

See: Post under mine.

(since -t is missing, the 3600 will be ignored, shutting down immediately)

Also FlashGet will shutdown when its done, and yes, it IS clean.

Ah, okay.

If you were using torrent-software, e.g. Azureus (yes, you can download legal stuff with those too!), it has that fancy "shut down when finished"-function.

Wonder if there's an FF-plugin that would do that?

Well, it says 50 minutes to download is complete, and I set my computer to shutdown in 1 hour.. If it fails, I just download it during the day tomorrow..

Thanks for the help guys..

Donny, you can close this topic now, I got what I need.
